moving mark on %battery "rev counter" - MG HS Phev

Hi...A query. When running in EV mode, when % reaches about 50/60% there appears a small white marker which runs ahead of actual marker. The odd marker runs up to the 100% mark then vanishes.....Any ideas as to what it is for ???

It shows there is a power limit due to some reason, usually it's a gear change that's upcoming.

I find that it indicates where the electric gearbox will change up or down when reached.
