MPG

I recall reading that their tests for the MPG rating are done in perfect laboratory conditions, I was even told the brake pads are removed! So we can never achieve the figure.

An update to my previous post. I drove 25 miles from Bournemouth to Salisbury this morning and managed to achieve 64 mpg. I then drove a further 55 miles to Chippenham and the fuel consumption settled out at around 58 mph.

I've seen 60 mpg when I go for longer drives in my ZS but generally it sits at about 45 mpg in town driving.
Not much wrong with 45 mpg in town driving, to be fair. Especially at this time of year.

That's really impressive!
I've found that you can get better mpg figure's by driving on longer journeys as apposed to town driving. I previously had a Clio hybrid and the most I managed from that car was just over 59 mpg on a journey although town driving the Clio would show figures in the low to mid 50's whereas my MG sits around 45 mpg around town.

62 mpg isn't to be sniffed at, you can seem to achieve better figures on longer drives. I did the exact same journey as before but when it was dark and rainy and only managed around 58 mpg.

Hi cheerfuljerry, is that on the settings normal as the picture shows? If you had been on eco mode perhaps you might have achieved better results?
Eric.
