My 6-year-old daughter wrote off my MG ZS EV

Funny story.

The little one tugged on the rear right door handle to open the door, and the handle came off.
I thought I'd get my MOT done on the same day as fixing the handle.

When I went to pick the car up, I was told that the handle couldn't be fixed, because they don't have the parts (after arranging this a month ahead of said date). The parts can be ordered, but the ETA is "indefinite".

And the MOT? Failed.
Why? "Offside rear door handle broken, door not opening - failed MOT"

Yeah, that was the daft bit - "hmm, we can't fix the door because we don't have parts, BUT we'll also do this MOT knowing it'll fail because of said door we can't fix" ?‍

I'll keep this in mind for next time, thanks. I ended up sourcing my own parts. The two outside pieces of the door handle: one part came in the wrong colour, and the other is still out of stock, so yesterday I just gave them the two existing pieces I had (which fell off) plus the new interior locking mechanism I ordered, and...

They managed to fix it! MOT passed!
