I've been on holiday for the last week, and the venue had two Type 2 7kW chargers. Having got booked in etc we returned to the charge point to find an MG5 owner, solemn faced, granny cable in hand, looking all round the charge point for somewhere to plug it in!.

I told him I had an MG EV on order, we had a brief chat, and it turns out he hadn't had the car long, and had no idea most public charge points were type 2, or that his MG5 didn't come with a suitable cable. He had traveled from Wales and had 16 miles left on the GOM  I commented that my Zoe didn't come with a granny charger, and in 4 years I'd never needed one.

I checked my car and said I only needed about another hour to have enough charge for a few days, and would he like to borrow my cable in an hour or so? - a look of great relief passed over his face, and we exchanged phone numbers so I could text him. We duly met up and swapped the cable over, and left the MG5 happily charging.

Next day he texted me to say his MG was fully charged, and was very relieved. He presented me with a bottle of wine as a thank you when I got the cable back, what a nice bloke!

Just goes to show how a little help can go a long way (over 200 miles!)

Edit: moderator - can you move this to general chat? sorry!

See !.
There are STILL some kind hearted, thoughtful people left in the world :giggle: .
I had a similar situation only last week.
We arrived at our local supermarket to do our weekly shopping.
Using a £1 coin to release the trolly, as I pulled out the trolly there was a ladies purse still in the trolly behind.
I did NOT open it, but it was a really nice quality designer item ( according to my wife ) and it looked packed full of bank cards etc and notes.
I entered the store and handed straight to the security guard, he said it was the second item that had been handed in that day !.
I just said somebody will be glad to get his back.
A few moments later a call came over the address systems asking if a Mrs *********** was still in the store.
The owner of the purse I guess !.
