My Renaults were all diesel, a Clio van and a Modus then three Kangoo combos in succession. All were excellent and I only left when Renault stopped producing the combo style. After a disastrous 8 days with a mercedes (which totally soured that brand and it’s dealers for me for ever), I was turned to Citroen for a diesel C3 for my wife and two Berlingo Multispace combos in succession for work, Both were fabulous 8 speed automatic / manual diesels and were superb.Hello,
On the whole, I'm not a fan of the Renault brand.
In the past I've had Renault cars and they've all had reliability problems.
I would say that their finish leaves a lot to be desired.
After only 2 years, at the end of their ridiculously short warranty, the problems start.
Renault has a very extensive network in France, which is its strength, but they still lag behind when it comes to the quality of their cars. Not to mention the French magazines which, out of chauvinism and financial interests, support the brand.
My judgement is both personal and a reflection of the feelings of many people around me who shun the brand.

Yes, even the French magazines, which never cease to support the French vehicles that advertise intensively in their pages, concede that the Renault gearboxes, especially those with dog clutches, have a few problems...
