Hi,
Took delivery last week of my MG4 Trophy Extended Range and have found a number of issues that I'm trying to understand are maybe me, or maybe the car.
Most obvious issue is a significant rumbling / vibration about about 60MPH. At 55 the cabin is pretty silent and smooth, but as speed increases a definite vibration begins and is significant to be uncomfortable to drive with above 65MPH. I can feel the vibration through the car itself, and in the steering - although it doesn't feel like a steering wobble - the steering will is transmitting the same vibration the rest of the car feels. I test drove 3 variants before I purchased and none of them had this noise.
I've contacted the dealer and they're having the car back next week to look into it. I saw there is a long thread which has been running for some time about rumbling (MG4 Rumbling and vibration) but it doesn't seem to reach any specific conclusions.
My radio keeps cutting out - It will come on initially and after about 30s it will cut off. The display shows the radio is still tuned (The program info will change, etc). The only reliable way to get the sound back is to change the source (e.g. to USB) and change back to radio. The cut off seems to be mainly when I start listening - If I keep turning it back on, eventually it stabilises and then will play for the rest of the journey.
'Emergency' indicators ? I've noticed at various times the indicators rapidly flashing - like you see cars do under harsh breaking. But I've seen this even when stationary in traffic. I thought I was going mad (because it doesn't happen for long and the orange 'blind spot' warning is pretty close to the wing mirror mounted indicator) but my wife has noticed it too. Is this some warning system to other cars based on their movements? One occasion we thought it might be due to a van that was very close (in an adjacent lane) and travelling much faster as we were in traffic. But on another I was stationary at traffic lights and surrounded by stationary traffic.
Warnings at startup. I often get 'ACC not available' when I first start out - Is this normal? In the early morning I also get, shortly after setting off, a series of 'not available' warnings about ACC, speed limit recognition, lane keeping - Does this imply something wrong with the cameras? Seems to be particular to cold mornings so I wondered if there is a condensation issue. Or as these systems are reliant on cameras, do I need to regularly clean cameras?
Sorry for the long post.
In case it's relevant for the radio issue the software versions are
