MG3 Hybrid+ Trophy
Hi joined a couple of days ago, not got the car until Monday, but of course I liked the test drive

Insurance is sorted Dealers said to use Compare the Market and it was the only one to give me a quote, we went with AA as Esure required limbs, the best part of £1k and we've been with them for 3 years with the same car, not impressed at all, they should wear a mask, AA was £412 which seems fair for a new car, our first so we're quite excited.

I need to get a set of mats and a boot liner that fits this model, should I get anything else as we're not the tidiest of folks being disabled so keeping a car clean is low on the list.

Where is the best place to buy more model dedicated stuff, I was surprised that MG had zero stuff for sale, seems like a mistake to me when you have a customer there.

We went with the allow wheel insurance and the body prep seems a bit of a rip off but we'll see if it protects our investment.

We expect to be a bit confused by all the tech, last car was a dumb Fiesta, any help or advice on that will also be extremely welcome,

I am a very active forum member elsewhere so you may see more of me.

I have got two sets of mats for mine. If you’d like a rubber set for £25 plus postage I can send them to you. They cost me £44 two months ago but didn’t add my specifics to them, they said to use them until I got the new set and then let me keep the ones I’ve got. They are specifically for the MG3 + hybrid. I can send a photo if you like.

Hi @Big Ears , nice to have you with us, accessories for the MG3 Hybrid are a bit lacking at the moment, MG have only managed to come up with Floor Mats so far.
I would have thought that this car would have been in the planning stage for a couple of years and some bright young thing would have suggested accessorising the new models.

Yes please Ann, I shall run it past accounts, I think she wanted the fabric ones but you never know if the price is right, this Yorkshire you see, short arms and long pockets.

We picked up the car yesterday morning, the handover was really not very good the salesperson seemed to know nothing about it so left to our own devices, I have looked on YouTube for a video to show us about the dash software (I'm 74) not found anything intelligible yet so if you have a link I'll owe you a pint.

The car is lovely, we went with black as we were not that keen on the frontal design, it really is so much better than our 66 plate Fiesta Titanium by miles, a few friends think I'm crazy buying an MG, until I sent them some review vids, they like us didn't know of the new models, one is going down for a look as the need to replace their car soon

Boot liner was ordered from Amazon just now.

I'm looking for floor mats now, not buying MGs own, too pricy for us, I'm sure I saw a link elsewhere on here but can't find it.

Help

Thanks Clive, the link took me too the other link I think :D :D

The boss want to pay for good ones, who am I to argue against feminine logic

Mats ordered.

I had fun this morning, the damned thing kept beeping at me, I had to ring the dealer, he talked me through all sorts of stuff it appears to have stopped now.

The issue now is that the sat nav and the radio clash so you can't hear either, this is the MG sat nav which isn't too bad, I prefer Google maps normally.

I can't help thinking there must be a setting to automatically mute the radio when the Sat Nav is speaking, have a look to see if there's anything in Settings (main screen) then 'Volume'.

I'm still working around the infotainment settings in mine, so I'm not sure about the auto-mute as I use Google Maps. In the sound settings, there is the option to adjust the volume of each separately.
There is also an SDV option to adjust the volume so that it increases as you increase speed. This is to compensate for any increase in engine noise.
The link below is for the MG 4, but many of the features are the same.

Can see in the above video that in some places the MG4 infotainment screen and the row of switches look somewhat different to our Hybrids. Seems the only way to me is to keep plugging at it to get what you want. Still finding a lot of the instrument panel info is too dim to read especially in direct sunshine. Keep playing with mine here in the drive to see what goes, it would be lethal and probably illegal, trying to learn it on the move. As co-driver, she who must be obeyed seems to have mastered the heating/aircon system on the road which is handy.
Let's keep looking for that better video from a well spoken English techy for us ordinary folk to understand all the possibilities available to us.

I'm not sure anyone will do a decent video to be honest as you need someone who understands it all, they need to be able to slowly impart that knowledge for this numpty to grasp and be somewhat good at making videos, they at least need a tripod to get close enough to see what's going on but far enough to see the buttons too,not the easiest of tasks at all.
