Good thinking.
How very dare you! And would you please speak up with a larger font when speaking to me ?Knowing the age profile of the membership I expect a few are a bit Mutt n Jeff![]()
I can recommend an extremely good Audiologist in Norwich ?How very dare you! And would you please speak up with a larger font when speaking to me ?
Agree, I have mine booked in too to be looked at. It's so loud that people standing nearby must be thinking "Wow, something is wrong with that MG car"... Not a good advertisement for MG !Same issue here. It's a high pitched sound that 'ticks' pretty loud.
Inside my car, not a problem at all as the woosh windy sound of the AC is overruling it. But outside it's so loud/noisy that I feel a bit ashamed when standing still somewhere. EV is supposed to be super quiet, now whenever I have AC on (which is pretty much always) I feel like I' m as loud as an ICE car.
I have an appointment next week with the dealer to see if they think it's normal or should be fixed.
I can hear mine but at your setting of 23 degrees it is not as bad as thatSame issue here. It's a high pitched sound that 'ticks' pretty loud. When I turn on the airco the sound takes a minute to build up and get higher pitched.

EDIT: made some videos to compare but they're too large to upload here, so here's the wetransfer link to the vids:
Link to the AC sound videos
It would be great if people could let me know if this sound is normal on their MG4's. The sound on the videos is when I have the AC on normal (23 degrees, auto).
Think it’s most MG dealers… must be part of there training rule number 1. Get the money and runWent back to the dealer and they told me (after letting me wait for 3 hours) that it's a normal sound for AC and they can't do anything about it.
It's obviously not a normal sound for AC, it sounds like an electric saw. But whatever, I'm done losing time to this dealer. Ever since I bought the car they completely lost any interest in me or my desires for the car. Even reaching them by phone or mail is almost impossible. Kind of a wake-up call for me that buying a new car (at least an MG) in The Netherlands does not mean that you get any service or support with it.
Next car will be second-hand again.
I share the sentiment. MG support is next to useless. The car is 'Flaky' in my opinion. Not sure what your customer service rights are in the Netherlands, but in the UK you can reject the car if it is not fit for purpose or quality is not as expected.Went back to the dealer and they told me (after letting me wait for 3 hours) that it's a normal sound for AC and they can't do anything about it.

It's a working AC but the sound is ridiculous, especially on hot days. I don't think it will fail or stop working. Just sounds like a part (maybe a bolt) is not attached properly and is hitting some other metal part when it rotates. If it is faulty, fails and stops working you will get it fixed under warranty. If it doesn't then maybe it isn't faulty and you have working air con. That's the approach I'm taking at the moment.
Where is your dealer located? Breda? It's a working AC but the sound is ridiculous, especially on hot days. I don't think it will fail or stop working. Just sounds like a part (maybe a bolt) is not attached properly and is hitting some other metal part when it rotates.
But yeah you're right. I'll try not to be bothered with it and if it does stop working I can get it fixed under warranty.
But when they fix it... it goes back to square one, rinse and repeat until the car is out of warranty !It's a working AC but the sound is ridiculous, especially on hot days. Warranty is only 6 months for the AC compressorIf it is faulty, fails and stops working you will get it fixed under warranty. If it doesn't then maybe it isn't faulty and you have working air con. That's the approach I'm taking at the moment.
Really ? That's scuppered my approach then !Warranty is only 6 months for the AC compressor
6 months warranty for any part doesn’t sound right. Surely has to be 12 months minimum?Warranty is only 6 months for the AC compressor
6 months warranty on a regas !... I bet MG thought "Ha, we'll never have to deal with that one then".The only thing in the warranty document specifying air con is regarding regas - that's 6 months. The compressor is not specifically mentioned (as far as I can see from a quick search) therefore the full 7 year warranty applies. (The 7 year warranty applies for all components other than those specifically excluded/mentioned as having a shorter warranty period).
