ODB2 app for mg5 LR?

Car Scanner works on iOS for me with a wi-fi OBD2. I have to trick it into connecting, sometimes, by switching wi-fi off and back on again, whilst it is trying to connect.
Yes, eventually figured that one out, iOS (only?) works via WiFi while Android does prefer Bluetooth dongles..

So it connects to the elm. But fails to connect to ecu. Don’t know if app is at fault. Suspect it’s the vgate icar pro that’s not compatible as fails accross multiple apps

Try the same dongle with an Android device via Bluetooth, bet it will work

I tried 2 different dongles with Android using car scanner and EZS and it didn't work, Nothing worked on my 5.
They worked on my ZS EV and they work on my Kona.

Looks like a problem with your OBD port, can the dealer read data?
I'm not alone with this problem, as reported in other threads. The dealer has done updates at service so I think they can read it OK.

I had a service sheet with SOH on, how do you do you think updates are done ? .
I’d say via ‘hidden’ menu and USB:
