One of the less mentioned benefits of EV uptake ?

Quiet is mentioned in this video but worth watching if not seen already to see where Norway was a year ago and how they did it. Maybe we will be in the same place in 10 years.

 
As for the noise & smell of town centre traffic I agree, I use the train regular & walking from the station alongside bumper to bumper traffic you can taste the traffic fumes on the back of your throat.
You don't realise how bad the fumes are until you spend time away from ICE vehicles. I used to drive the express bus service (X38) up and down the A38 from the centre of Derby to the centre of Burton and it is only since I've retired that I realise the frequent slightly sore throat, tired feeling eyes and headaches were from the traffic fumes.

I always assumed that the main source of that feeling that cars are dirty was road dirt and dirty wheels and mud in the footwells and so on. Maybe that's why so many men get obsessive about cleaning their cars. But since I've had Caliban I do get an almost subliminal sense that everything is cleaner, which is probably the lack of fumes.
