Hi All, I've had my PHEV since Feb 2022 and lately ( 3 times in last 4 months) I have had an engine fault display on the dash. The previous 2 times the dealer has said it is the oxygen sensor. The second time they swapped the sensors around to see what would happen. The same warning has just happened for the 3rd time today. I have to take it back AGAIN to be looked at. Not being mechanically minded I'm wondering why it would take 3 warnings and losing my car for a day each time in the workshop to work this out. The second time they told me I am probably not using it in petrol mode enough. The 63 km I get from a charge does me most days and I only use petrol mode on longer trips (not very often). The whole point of me buying this car was to use electric mode most of the time. After the advice they gave me I have used the car in petrol mode once per week. Does anyone have any knowledge of this issue and can enlighten me on what I could be doing wrong or to fix it?? Love the car generally BUT!!!

I had that error come up as well on the way back from a trip. I called out the breakdown service and he checked on his diagnostic and said it was the lambda sensor, he couldnt see anything else wrong and the car was driving ok so he cleared the error so i could dfrive the 100kms home. The error was off all the way to home, the next day when I started the car it was back again so I booked it into MG service for 3 days time., then did some searching online and one of the fixes someone found was to take the petrol cap off and leave it off for 10 mins to vent the gases from the tank. I had just refueled 15 minutes before that error first came up, so i tried it. Took the petrol cap off and waited 10 mins exactly, put the cap back on then started the car and the engine light error was gone. That was 3 weeks ago and it hasnt come back since then. MG also did the diagnostics on it and found nothing wrong. Another thing someone online said was not to overfill the tank, as soon as it stops the pump, dont put any more in which i had done, i had gone from the first stop to the second one when filling. So if it happens to you again it might be worthwhile trying taking the cap off for 10mins to see if it fixes it :)
