Coming to a charger near you soon -ish PAUA has just demonstrated plug and go charging for everyone getting somewhat annoyed with the current payment methods for charging.

Interesting. It doesn’t say exactly how it actually achieves this. There’s still the issue of faulty chargers of course and compatibility of your car - depending on how it works. The existing providers will need to agree to this also - which could be an issue. A step in the right direction though.

It seems to be an overly technological solution to a problem that already has a parfectly good working system available to it.

All that's needed is contactless payment to be available at every charger (which is the rule now for all new chargers). Joe Public is familiar with it, everybody has a card these days and the tech is tried and trusted.
