Poor efficiency (or is it just the cold?)

Given that the first line of my post had been edited out (and the reason for it also addressed) then it would have been more relevant to simply delete my previous post, n'est pas? ;)

You’re definitely right. My car is less than 6 months old. And I had the 1st month regular check….. all was well and updates were made. But in my case mistakes were made (and I have absolutely nothing to cite from other sources to back me up other than the proof I’ve provided) that there had been a bug introduced unknowingly.
I just stated my situation and resolution devoid of any speculation.
All I’ve done is offer facts and hope it may help others.

It's interesting to realise that this can be an actual fault. I think all the other cases where loss of range in winter was complained of turned out to be just the normal temperature effects. But this one did sound different, both in its suddenness and magnitude, especially as your temperatures weren't actually all that cold.

This worked for you, but it is likely not the solution in every...
This was an odd statement. Anyone would realise that was a really weird negative statement “siteguru”.
I had an issue and got results. What’s with the negative response? I’m just suggesting I went to a MG service and what fixed what seems like a common problem. I’m not telling people a DIY fix.

I don’t do social media. I had no idea I was “Spaming”. I thought I was just giving information to different individuals.
I have never gone on threads. I just googled what was going on with my car and ended up on this site.
Apologies on my behalf. And as a newbie I Accept your apology. ✌️??

Just took this photo this morning. I finished the charging on my wall mount, not trickle charge. Happy now ??

PS. It got down to 1°C while it was charging last night.

Nice ... 370km is about 230 miles. :)

Is yours the 51 kWh LFP battery pack?
Honestly I’m not sure. It’s was the cheapest electric car on the market worth buying in the 40k range (BYD did have one that was $100 cheaper but didn’t have half the extras like reverse camera, apple play and a bunch of other stuff). The MG4 model above mine was roughly 60k and does under 500km (20k for 100km more seemed ridiculous to me) with a bucket load more extras, also odd is that it came with 18 inch alloy wheels that lowered its range because the tyres were bigger. Make of that what you will ?.

I did do a lot of comparison work before I bought my MG4 and this car at the time was by far the best value for money and had great reviews from many different sources.
FYI…. I did notice on Wednesday (30/7/24) at the service centre that a MG3 has been now released in Australia. I have no idea about the specs on it though.

If I take into account load losses, from end of december 2023 until now I use 17,8 kWh/100 km. Average speed close to 70 kmh. Lots of highway. Mine is an ER, which is about 100 kg heavier than a 64 kWh Trophy. If I look at the power consumption, an estimated 16,0 kWh/100 km means I lose about 10% while loading.
