Post your MG ZS EV battery SOH data please

Hello , what ODB2 are you using ? Are you on the UK?

Check out AliExpress website and don't pay more than £2-£5 for it ... search this forum for OBD and see what people use.

SoH should be noted on your service report...

Regarding the BMS upgrade, did you see any change when you moved from the 455V version to 449V regarding the SoH, Range or other areas (e.g less time for rebalancing)?

For example was SoH degraded slower after that?
Was the range impacted?

I have the original BMS R10 with 455V. Considering if it worthy to ask from update or just leave it with the old version.

SoH is about above 93%, range 150miles, 2021 model

Anticool, the cell voltage was just too high when shipped. Where the it did work was to beat the nearest competitor, the Leaf by 10% capacity. The BMS reduced the voltage and so the range. You will get more cycles and life it is applied. However on original tyres with reducing tread and rolling resistance, there would have been somewhat of an offset between the two. At the time prior to “BMSgate”, the SOH never appeared to shift off 100%. After there’s a disparity between SOC from the car and rapids, plus the charged range in Summer became even more wildly off.

Thanks Zoomy, how much the range reduced after the upgrade?

Which one is the most stable and optimal BMS ?
Do you know which you use now?

Regarding the rebalancing, how long does it take after the update?

Rebalancing was about 20 charges, that depends though on how imbalanced it is afterwards. The original bulletin stated a tolerance beyond which it had to stay at the dealer, assuming the dealer actually read their bulletins. The first version was A01 followed by EU1 if I recall. The usable went from 44 to 40 kWh, so in theory 10%.

I'm going to try to pull together some data regarding battery State Of Health, we now have cars about that have done a reasonable mileage.

These are the bits that I think would be good to know:
SOH %
Mileage done
Car age (since registered)
Rought percentage of DC (Rapid) charges vs AC charges.
How many times do you think you've charged to 100%
GOM shown in Normal(3) after a 100% charge, with both trips reset (car started without brake pedal pressed/under no load) (this gives a good indication of SOH if you haven't got access to OBD2 data)

Mine, to start things off:
SOH 97.27%
10.5k miles
7 months old
5% Rapid charging (5 Rapids done, about 100 AC charges)
About 84 charges to 100%
GOM 159miles
I finally did it . But I can't find the page where it shows battery specific voltages. Not bad after 2 years an 65k milage, I think.

65k miles, 2 years of daily use as a minicab in London, throphy model long range model , home charged daily and 2 to 3 times per month fast charged.

Only just found this thread as I'm playing with a new ODB2 dongle.

SOH 90.6%
19k miles
48 months old
Very few (<5) rapid charges done. Mostly AC with a 100% charge and balance once every4-6 weeks.
Should I be concerned? 3.5 weeks later and mileage has increased by around 1,000 miles to 20,270. My SOH is now 90.1% so has dropped by 0.5% in this time period.

I'll keep checking every week or so but that's a bit alarming. I charged the car to 100% last night and can see from my charge app that the battery balancing completed.

Our ZS TRL is 16 months old with 15,000 miles on the clock. Battery SOH, 97.99%.

Found out something today, if you don't disconnect (log-out) of your OBD software (in my case Car Scanner), once the car is locked the alarm goes off after a few minutes reporting an abnormal invasion, by text and email! Everyday' s a school day :)

Which app is this,
The page with the grid of data including max and min temperatures is actually the app called Car Scanner (note the suggestion at the bottom of the top black screen shot to upgrade to Car Scanner Pro). I expect that app to be widely available. eZS may not be available in Norway as they probably have not translated the text into Norwegian.

Thank you, I missed the note.

I found Car Scanner, MG ZS EV is listed as supported in the app, hopefully I can get the SOH.

I didn’t intend to check the SoH again so soon but here I am. Under 90% now. Has anyone else obsessed about their SoH to tell me if this is ‘normal’?

20,439 miles now so 169 miles and 7 days after the previous reading has lost me 0.1% of battery capacity.

Ours ZS EV 2021, 42882km, SOH 89,4. It drops approx. 0.1 everytime it drops, and the drops are between 400km to 1000km.
