Pricing to be believed?

New or old one?
We have our wires crossed here a little.
We are not talking ZS EV face lift, in fact we are talking VW ID3 !.
Dealers are not due to receive their Demo models of the ZS EV face lift, until the 26th November.
ID3 life is the poverty version, so the fact it has a manual adjusted seat does not shock me at all !.

Well exactly hence the question

Some good points re before or after grant.
Has the budget today changed the grant etc??

TBH I’m not sure I believe the prices they’ve published, there’s no way MG would have finalised the prices until they’d heard the budget.

I have been trying to find out, but unable to find any detail.
He has promised more money for much needed charging improvements to the infrastructure, but this has been seen as some indication, that the current £2,500.00 plug in grant, of cars under £35,000 will end !.
I do agree that MG have sat back and waited to hear the budget, before pricing the ZS EV face lift.
The 1st of November is the dead line day for the price release.
Getting the price placement of this car is of major importance to MG.

I read an article earlier starting nothing was changing with the PicG...I think it was on auto express website... Post budget.

So trophy Tim will be £2.5k more than the Exclusive with an extra 100 miles, led lights, an app and better infotainment.

Compare that to the MG5 LR increase earlier in the year for £1500 which only added 40 more miles and mg pilot.

I think £2.5k is to be expected and sound about right to me.

Just have to see if what the PCP deals are like in terms of 0% and deposit etc.

I’ve not seen anything mentioned either regarding grants etc from what I can see in budget

Nothing new in budget as far as I heard, but they were always touted as ending the grant at some point but think that’s a couple of years away from when announced, so maybe Apr 2023 etc, subject to nothing changing in the mean time..
I must say I didn't think the lowering of the grant price limit to £35k was a good move to start with, but seeing how many manufacturers have now magically made their uk car prices less than £35k now speakers volumes. Citroen Space tourer magically dropped over £10k within weeks etc for one..

I can only find this reference in the budget.

"Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak has revealed the details of the 2021 Autumn Budget, outlining the government’s spending plans for the future".

The key points from the 2021 Autumn Budget affecting the automotive industry are:

  • £6.1bn investment to reduce transport emissions – includes £620m of new funding for public chargepoints and targeted zero emission vehicle grants.
  • £800m investment in the production of electric vehicles in north-east England and the Midlands.
No mention of the plug in grant though ?????????.
Mind you, we have the COP26 summit in Scotland very soon, so maybe removing any incentive for the move to EV's - just may have been seen as bad timing at the moment.

MG ZS 45kWh Excite - £26,696
MG ZS 45kWh Exclusive - £28,596
MG ZS SE EV Long Range 73kWh - £30.995
MG ZS Trophy EV Long Range 73kWh - £33,495
MG ZS Trophy Connect EV Long Range 73kWh - £33,995

£4.5k-5k more then. Too much extra for me to upgrade :(

View attachment 5429

MG website quotes Excite OTR price as £28,595 - then quotes OTR price after PICG as £26,095
Exclusive OTR Price as £31095 - OTR price after PICG £ 28,595.

So Bristol Street Motors prices may be before PICG.

If so, would be an increase of about £1400 on the SE and £2400 on the Trophy after PICG is taken off.

Only to be expected for additional range and tech upgrades.

Will have to see when more dealers release prices and deals.

That's if I have got the maths correct ;-)
The Prices in the advert for the Excite 26,696 and Exclusive 28,596 match closely enough the after PICG price OTR on the MG website.
That may indicate these are the real OTR prices, near enough, and Bristol Street Motors have gone early. (Or they know nothing and are guessing)

@MilesperkWh Could you comment on Bristol Street Motors advertising a price on the new ZS?

I was hoping for maybe zero vat on EVs instead of existing grant maybe :(
