Hi,I just received my MG4 51 kWh 2023 model today, and I'm having a lot of fun getting used to the regenerative braking. Using one-pedal driving is interesting! I have a few questions -

When you lift your foot off the accelerator, the car starts to brake. Do the brake lights turn on when you lift or ease off the pedal? If so, how can you turn this off? Is it possible to do so? With regenerative braking, can you stop the car when you're a certain distance away from the car in front?

How can you see your regenerative braking statistics and the amount of energy you’ve gained from it? How do you turn regenerative braking on and of?

lastly how do I connect my Android phone to Google Maps without using a USB cable? I’ve already connected my phone via Bluetooth, but when I use Google Maps on my phone, it does not mirror it on the dashboard? If you can do this where is this setting on the dashboard? I really appreciate everyone’s help!Thank you ?

Do the brake lights turn on when you lift or ease off the pedal? Yes
If so, how can you turn this off? You can't (why on earth would you want to??) Is it possible to do so?

How can you see your regenerative braking statistics and the amount of energy you’ve gained from it? On the dash board in the battery info
How do you turn regenerative braking on and of? You can't set it to 3 different levels or an Adaotive setting which looks back at your driving / braking recently and sets the level accordingly

lastly how do I connect my Android phone to Google Maps without using a USB cable? You need to use an adaptor

Finally - You need to RTM then you will understand your car.

Brake light operation is triggered by the rate of deceleration. It doesn't operate just because you've taken your foot off the pedal, only when deceleration is great enough to justify warning the driver behind you.

In regards to Google maps. I did read the manual and it does not tell you anything about connecting your phone without the usb. All my car can Google maps without connecting my phone with a usb.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that the brake lights show when the regen figure is 7 or higher. :)

The MG4 (all versions) only support wired Android Auto (hence Google Maps). You need to connect your phone to the left hand USB socket. Navigation instructions are not shown in the driver display, only on the Infotainment display.

PS - as you are in the UK your forum profile would be better selected as SE SR (for Driving)rather than Standard (if you can). :)

Regen figure? Where is the figure located?

Yes I am :)

It's in the driver display, bottom centre ... it normally shows the power in White text as you're driving; it is Green when in regen. :)

Thank you. How do you see how much % of regen you gain back from the battery? It's not showing for some reason? May I also ask how do you turn on the auto high beam? I'm so confused ?

Re the regen display, please look in the wiki thread at the top of the forum and look for the MG4 Trophy guide. Although it is for the Trophy it is useful for all MG4 owners and has annotated pictures at the end.
