I moved to Mid Wales 3 years ago and radio reception in my ZS was more or less limited to BBC 1-6. Nothing else on DAB or FM.
I traded the ZS in for the ZS hybrid 2 months ago and noticed reception is slightly worse with BBC radio 2 dropping out a lot more. Also, sometimes I lose reception but switch to another channel and back and reception is restored.
I wondered if anyone had any tips on improving reception when living out in the sticks e.g. booster, new aerial?
Thanks.

Shame you can't put a cd in or attach a coathanger these days! I can't actually see where the aerial is so I'm sorry I'm not much help. If you can find a good concise user manual it may explain where it is and can go from there

As my surname is Thomas, I suppose I could take umbrage. But my family tree which I’ve chased back to the fifteen hundreds, indicates that I have no Welsh ancestors.
However, although Wales might appear to be somewhat slow, keeping up with modern systems. The poor reception might be more to do with the fact that it’s a bit bumpy.

Mid Wales is wonderful! We are on Aberdovey beach most days. My wife descends from Evans and Owen family tree so my kids could probably play sport for England or Wales. 😁
I recognise radios in most car makes struggle in parts of Wales.
I just hope there is a way of improving radio reception in my MG somehow so I don't have to suffer much more of Sara Cox and the shouty fella in the morning. 😉

Have you had a look at Digital Radio UK Postcode Checker. It won’t solve the problem, but it might be interesting.
If I input my postcode it lists 76 stations.🤗

Of course that's at home when driving a round reception of stations will be variable on DAB.
I guess local people like your self will use FM which maybe wider coverage until FM turned off.

Even if it sounds stupid, maybe you should try to search for stations with the tailgate open. With the tailgate open, the antenna has more surface area to receive stations and is less affected by interference. Once you have stored a station, it is easier for the radio to receive it again.

Surprisingly I lose DAB and most FM (except BBC) about 10 miles out of Welshpool heading West but can get Absolute radio near Aberdovey occasionally. AM works for Talksport sometimes.
Just tried to set up Android Auto which works fine on my wife's phone (Moto) but not on my Xiaomi. 😁

The aerial is the bottom 3 bars on the rear window, below the heating strips.
Thanks so that's why my bottom quarter doesn't demist.

Been on many holidays to Wales and found DAB to be very limited in choice of stations so can't blame MG for that.
I was considering "fixing" the antenna due to its poor performance at demisting the bottom part of the rear window (I really thought something must have broken there - due to a few trips where I really stuffed the boot full)...
Another amazing design choice from SAIC...

Definitely thought as well something was broken until I learned that's a design choice.
