Range loss in Winter

I've had 2.0 most of the winter. Best I've seen is 2.6. To be fair, doesn't bother me at all. Presuming it will get better in Summer. 🙂👍

We had courtsey car for over a month now.. EQC 400 - guess what it can do ?
2 miles / kWh

If you press the m/kWh button twice, it will show the miles per kWh over all of the journeys you have made since it was last re-set. That will be a more accurate indication of your overall energy use. This number will only alter slowly as the seasons or your driving style changes.
That shows 3.0 on the last 2500 miles

Just got 4.2 miles per kWh today, mainly motorway at 60mph from Ruislip to Bletchley Park. ACC, Normal Drive setting, temp set to 20c. So ranges are heading back up.

Just picked up the 2022 ZS EV and drove 25 miles home. it was 4.1 miles / kWh - granted it is warm weather and I was using ACC which doesn't regen. One thing that really ticks me off with MG implementation - HS Phev had the same

Got 3.0 today in my X Power, and driving no different. Still giving it plenty of Beans. So obviously it must be the warmer weather. 🙂👍

MG4 X Power uses a different kinda front motor and is the cause of bad efficiency. Tesla MY LR gives around 4 miles / kWh even in winter

Wouldn't call it "Bad" efficiency. It is what it is, as they say. Small price to pay, for the fantastic performance on offer. 🤪
I can certainly live with it. 🙂👍

Coming home it was absolutly lashing it down with rain. Efficiency was down to 3.9. Shows how just environmental conditions can affect things.

Hi Team,

I have an approx 2 yr old MG EV 4 SE with about 6,000 miles usage. I just wondered what was an acceptable reduced range in the cooler months. In August I was getting 307 miles at 100% charge (ECO), in Oct this dropped to 240 miles at 100% charge (ECO), now in Nov I am getting 210mi at 100% (ECO) -temp today around 8°C, does this sound about right. I did take the car in for diagnostics check but they said battery was ok. TIA
I have same model and the mileage you are getting is right. Most I have managed on a full charge in winter is 222. In summer I have achieved up to 320 with sensible driving manner.

I’m on second MGZS EV. Range drops dramatically in winter for many reasons. Battery temperature being the must relevant.
Also use of heating: heated seats use very little. Cabin heating/cooling much more. Insignificant from other electrics (lights, radio, windscreen wipers etc). Don’t worry about it and enjoy your car.
