Range

Only about 50 miles.

X Power?
Driven moderately?
Are you sure you will be able to resist?

Only kidding.
I drive mine sensibly, the vast majority of the time (honest) and my regular summer reading is circa 3.6 miles/kWh.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe this is difficult to say but what range would you get mainly motorways in good weather, I think my range in the LR is about 220.

Have a look here.

Might be something of interest to you.

Good weather I get around 3 miles/kW, maybe just over with all the 50mph roadworks on the M1

My last 300 mile trip Edinburgh to Leicester I had 2 charging stops 1 of 15 mins and the other 20 mins. The 140kW/h charging speed when under 50% means you can add 100 miles range in the time it takes for a comfort break.

Left home with 100% charge and arrived with 25% (so could have reduced the time of the 2nd charge stop)

In the Winter this can drop to 2.5 miles/kW and you may need to reduce motorway speeds to 60mph

Nice, sounds like you enjoyed some spectacular roads. I've cycled Passo Giau a few times, quite a beast, though worth it for the views ? Can imagine the MG4 being quite at home on twisty mountain passes
Thanks all... it's looking good when driving "normally" but the insurance is a hike over the LR

I spaced from 11.5 kWh/100 km using ECO and light foot (5.4 mi/kWh) to 25 using sport and heavy foot (2.5 mi/kWh).

No motorway, 24 - 34 °C.

That's pretty good, very similar to my Trophy LR.
I too am also tempted to swap for the Power.
The MG4 was bought for my wife, she hasn't even sat in the driver's seat in 9 months.
Summer warmth is definitely better for economy, I was amazed to see the wrapping, the following piccy was yesterday, fairly warm day, unbelievable over 7 miles /kWh, didn't last long ended the day on 4.3.

Hi Anon70,

3.0mi/kWh is awful, I get that in my MG5 when I'm really booting it. my average over 5,800 miles is 3.3, but on a recent trip from London - Poole Harbour, 102.4mi I managed 4.8, which is amazing efficiency in a 1.8t (loaded) estate. I was doing 50-60mph in traffic, trying to stay behind vans/lorries where possible. If anyone has managed any better than that in an MG5, I'd like to know how!!!

Can get a bit better in warm weather around town but not much, has seen above 4 and 5 miles per kWh on short trips

I think the point is if you don't want to boot it, stay with the LR. Having said that, in all but sport mode (and "kickdown") the Xpower only uses the rear motor anyway, so a LR with extra weight up front.

...but you can't help it, it's a drug, faster, faster, accelerate harder...

Not for an X Power its not!
Anyway I thought this was an X Power discussion in the X Power forum???

Why don't you take your amazing efficiency and migrate to the MG5 section......................Slowly. ?

P.S. And don't sit behind vans and lorries.
Very dangerous not having a proper view of the road in front.

A few extra m/kWh versus your safety?

No contest surely.

I've found the Ave miles per kWh is very ambiguous, I'm going on a longer trip tomorrow Hampshire to Bucks, I'll try to remember to monitor it again.
Recently got a newly charged to 80% milage of a bit over 200, a couple of hours later it was reading 20 plus miles more, all down to temperature, but after a trip of around 50 miles, the two figures just didn't equate, it's electronic "best guess" I'd suspect. ??

Ambient temp makes a big difference, for about every 5 deg C of temp change there seems to be a related change in efficiency, I guess that is just the nature of battery tech, never tried the intelligent battery heating to see if the energy it uses to keep the battery comfy is offset by the energy efficiencies it produces
