The other day I was away from home and needed to charge. I tried a NRMA (Australia) charger and it was unable to communicate with the car. I tried another charging location, and the same thing occurred. At this stage I had less than 20km left, so I was getting a bit concerned.

It occurred to me that maybe a computer reset would fix it, so I disconnected the 12v battery, reconnected, and bingo, it all worked.

So this leads me to the issue that there seems to be no way to reset the computer other than disconnecting the battery. I'm a tech nerd, so doing that is easy. But for the average person it means a call to roadside assist.

Imagine having to call an electrician each time your home computer needed a reboot!

Any thoughts?

Any thoughts?

when people ask me to help with their laptops/software, I just say reboot it first and see what happens ... these cars are like laptops on wheels
could try switching the car on and off or with infotainment system reboot (although not sure how would that help!) but 12v battery seems to be the proper reset button for ZS...
in your case, could have been the first non-working charger that messed up something with the car that needed resetting?
