If I was you, I’d visit a good Auto Electrics place as they might be able to give you some advice and maybe a solution to your question. This is an absolute guess, but i would imagine that you would need to have some sort of coding done to the infotainment for the camera to work if is not there as standard.
The reversing camera comes on when you select reverse, but if the car does not have the reverse camera, it should not shift to show the camera, as it would just be showing a black picture.
So a guess would be that if you were able to add a camera, you would still need to have the function enabled in the infotainment, and i bet, MG are just like most other manufacturers of today...They don't do this, as their attitude towards stuff like this is "If you wanted this feature, you should have bought the car with this features specced"
I was thinking of doing this in my current Focus before I ordered by ZS. The loom on the ford has a connection on it for a camera, its just missing the camera. This is an absolute guess, but i would imagine that you would need to have some sort of coding done to the infotainment for the camera to work if is not there as standard.

The wiring looms should be the same as it would be an additional cost to MG to have 2 or 3 different wiring looms for essentially the same car, but as hmadsen said, the car would need to be coded to enable the feature.
I know with Ford you can use Forscan with an obd and it can be enabled really easily but not sure about MG's (yet). I'd assume if someone has the software it would be simple enough, or, if you know a really good mg dealer, they might enable it for you at a price and it would be quick too? It wouldn't hurt to just ask them.
Many thanks to everyone for their input. I did ask the car dealer if they could carry out the retro-fit, but said they couldn't do it, they gave me a number to call an auto electrician which I will try
Hi Jordypal, Where do you find the hidden menuThrough the hidden menu there is an option to activate the vision of the rear camera on the screen, if you activate it, it is black but the directional lines work and the indications of the sensors also work. I have been looking and I have not found the wiring of the camera in the rear bumper, so I think that it could be put, but it would be necessary to wire it.
Hi Jordipal, what make of MG have you got, where did you find the socket for the cameraHi! In the end I got to install the parking camera. I had to do the electrical installation to the screen and it works correctly.
