All this talk about the MG3 satnav is doing my head in. How can I tell if my car has up to date maps. Does anyone know the current update reference and where will it show me if mine is out of date. Lastly, does anyone know if MG has issued any updates at all, for any part of the MG3 Hybrid+.

Yesterday I looked in the menus of the Satnav integrated into the MG3.
You just need to look in the application settings to find out which version of the software and maps is in your Satnav.

Please enter it here and we'll tell you if it's the same version and the same map update.

I just use WAYZ, it's a lot easier to use, has traffic information and reroute, and most importantly has full voice activation for addresses and POI.
With a wireless CarPlay or Android adaptor, you don't even need to plug your phone in to access it.

WAYZ ???
I've never heard of it!
Can you tell us more? Or did you mean WAZE?

I used the MG sat-nav for the first time today, I found it very quick and accurate, and the graphics are better than on my previous 20-reg Polo.

Hi Italy. Had a look in the sat nav, but couldn't find any settings. Explain to a dumb cluck, please, exactly where satnav settings are. Thank you.

If you go to the Sat-Nav screen and click on the three little lines at the bottom left of the screen, then select Settings, it's one of the options in there, I can't remember exactly which option, but you'll see it.

Thanks Clive. I'll have a go this morning. Btw, do you find all this talk about upgrades and updates confusing?

I don't use the Navigation all that much, and I've never updated one in the past.
New roads are often added to out road network, but they're rarely removed, so even a really out of date Sat Nav will still get you to where you want to go, if not always by the most convenient route. So if there's an update available, of course I'd have it, but if not, I'm certainly not going to worry about it.

Ahh sorry, this thread is titled Satnav, so I thought that's what you meant.

If there are general software updates, we'll get them whenever our car goes to the Dealer for a service or any other work, one of the first things a Dealer will do when they get a car in is to check if the software is up to date.
If there's an important update, usually anything safety related, the MG Dealer will contact us and invite us to go in to have it done.

The same goes for me.

I have photos of the screen to explain how to do it. Aitch1 can ask me for them.

What's important to know is that this SATNAV is based on Igo Luna.

It's software that I know well and it performs well.

On the other hand, I've noticed that it's difficult to pick up the GPS signal at the start. Do you have this problem?

Also, the maps and speed cameras are a bit dated: second quarter 2023.

Finally, have you noticed that you can get these interesting statistics even if you didn't use it during your last journey?

Big brother is watching you.?️

Excellent reply, thanks Clive. Sorry about mixing updates on software with satnav. That photo is exactly what mine shows, so I assume I'm up to date. No more niggles about updates. Phew!
