Greetings all

Thanks to tax arrangements around leasing in Australia, the MG ZS EV came on the radar and we test drove one yesterday, so I'll be placing an order for said vehicle tomorrow in the Brighton Blue Metallic. It is a little bit of a wait until March for that colour, but I'd rather spend a month waiting for what I want vs a few years regretting compromising. It will share the garage with a '20 Golf R estate. It's replacing an '03 Mitsubishi Mirage (the old three door hatch) so it'll be a bit of a contrast.

The MG's brief will be to serve as my work commuter (60 km round trip), be the weekend "scuttle about" car and carry me and/or my bikes to whatever I'm doing.

Working my way through charging options right now. We have solar at home and a free charging station nearby so we're off to a good start. Looking forward to reading of others' experience and sharing my own.

So TheVat welcome to the forum you will find lots of information here about the ZS in it section especially but loads more about owning an EV across the whole forum also.
You are very lucky down under in your wait times for the ZS here in the UK some have been for a year or longer for that car you say you have solar and a free charge point near bye we’ll an EV is the right car to but that’s for sure.
One other thing you might find interesting is the MGEVs podcast on YouTube.

Heh, well I dunno about that, but I think the ZS would keep it reasonably honest between 20 - 70 km/h in Sport!

Hi all, another Aussie here!

Ordered my red ZSEV Excite and she's coming in March/April. It'll be my only car, taking over from a 2009 Prius. As TheVat mentioned, tax changes have made EVs a very accessible prospect here if you have access to salary packaging. It meant I got to do the EV jump a car before I thought I would and can skip the PHEV step .

Working my way through charging options right now. We have solar at home and a free charging station nearby so we're off to a good start.

I'll be mostly granny charging tbh, or I have free charging at work- I don't drive too much in the grand scheme of things, other than an occasional long run for site visits for work. If I had solar I'd definitely look at a wall charger just so I could get the charge in before the sun went down, but an overnight granny should be plenty.

It'll be interesting to see how different the Aus models are compared to some of the stuff people on here are saying about the UK ones!

I had our last car for 5 years and was huge pleasure to drove it.
I love to drive using "hypermiling/eco driving" technic !

Just remember that your future MG4 is a full electric car and will therefore like to receive a charge, just once in a while.
It does not have the benefit of being a "Self Charging Hybrid" like the Toyota ? .

Yes sure, need to plug sometimes, but free this time. It's free for charging in our car park, i pay only 35 pounds (39€) for a month (close and safe car park with camera and security all day).

Hello Cstef, and welcome on the forum, nice to have European input here nice choice of car and I’m sure it should arrive with you with all the necessary up dates onboard well it should do, and by June MG have got to be on top of everything I’m sure, but you of lots you can read here and lots of time before you car arrives. If you have any questions feel free to ask some one here will be able to answer any that is for certain, as you are new here and you are to get that vehicle MG4 better to stay in that section of the forum with any questions.

We are about to buy our first ever EV tomorrow, a White MG4 SE LR. We both retire this year and I particularly wanted to be free of the 'Oil Companies' hold on my travelling. I have Solar panels on the house which have been there for 9 years so have paid for themselves, so I'm hoping that with the car plugged in during the day it will benefit from some free top ups over the glorious summer we are all expecting!
Hoping to pick up a few tips, tricks, and news about the MG4 on here.

You might be right as I still have a vehicle that needs Diesel! but it will be nice not to have to buy anything like that for the MG4

I've had a Zappi installed which can be set to just charge from solar - don't have a house battery.

Hi all, new to this forum but not to EV, currently have a Leaf but trading that for an MG4 SE long range (couldn't push to Trophy) which I pick up next Thursday 30th March.
