Screen Not Remembering Brightness Setting?

Does anyone else have the issue whereby soemtimes, the car doesnt remeber the brightness setting and resets?

When you open settings, the correct preset is shown for the main infotainment screen.

For example, I have the brightness on minimum.

Sometimes, turning on the car, it remebers this.

Other times, even though it still shows the toggle on minimum - it's actually reset back to default/brighter.

The way to fix it is then to slide the toggle to increase and then back down again to dim.

Not end of the world, but slightly annoying and part of my ritual to turn off LKA, Speed Limit Alerts and now brightness.

Seperately to this,

I wish the small Drivers Display would allow additional control to dim the screen further as I feel its too bright even in the lowest setting.

1/ Have you tried in dark mode. (for the main screen)
2/ The R46 fixed that for me.
Once during this summer this brightness** jump out, I fix it and white mode and back just after in dark, after that no new issue.

The dimmer is a waste of time TBH, as @Labougie said, just use dark mode.

Dark mode (R46), dimers on low and stil not dimmed enough.

Turn off main infotainment screen and after setting the cruise controll putting my cap over the smal screen, and it's finaly dark enough to be comfortable for me.

And yes, sometimes it forget dimmer setting and change it to next step up.

Have a look at Jerry Pan's video. At 1:12 seconds he shows how to do it.

My screen is permanently in Dark Mode, I never use Light Mode !

Thanks for the tip, worked for me. I wondered why it looked so bright ..... never thought it would need resetting ?‍

Unfortunately, I have to do it 80-90% of the time I get into the car!

Every time I drive after charging the car, the brightness is up full whack, with the brightness slider still at minimum. Just have to move it up and down again to turn it back down. Just another quirk of the MG4 lol.

Yes, this is exactly what I find 9/10 times when I get in to the car

Yes, me too ..... I've just not noticed the brightness over the light Summer days but recently a few trips in the dark has brought this to my attention. Just one more thing to change at startup !! I have to leave the house a minute or two before Mrs G to get the car boot up and all the settings changed ready to go, or get moaned at for taking too long ??. It's too distracting to do all these changes once on the move ?‍ I'll need a checklist soon - Screen Brightness, LKA off, OPD on etc..... ?
