MG4 XPOWER
Hi All,

There are some good deals to be had it seems on the xpower, but I've just come off a terrible experience with a jag ipace, out of 15 months of ownership its had endless issues. I'm putting this down to bad luck, but thought I'd check in with xpower owners on how they are holding up. The main issue with the ipace was electric/battery issues that dealers couldn't/didnt have the expertise to fix

100% it's brilliant.
Cinderford MG come up recommended with excellent reviews. I spoke to helpful guy yesterday about general / upcoming MG sutff.
They have amazing business deals just over £25K or personal deals around £30K (what I paid for my ex-demo)
Have fun!

Make sure you get a 2024 BUILD, you could find it was registered in 2024 but built in 2023.

I have had no issues with my X Power apart from the vibration/hum from 65-75mph, this seems to only affect the 2023 build models.

Nov/Dec 2023 supposedly ok, too. ??

I can only give my advice after a year with the problem and MG denying it. There is a slight chance that the car may have been in a lock up or storage somewhere.

You'll get a certificate of conformity with the car which will tell you the build date...I wouldn't even sign for the car unless you test it at motorway speeds just to be sure.

MG have lost a lot of trust with a lot of their X Power customers.

This is giving me the same vibes I had with the ipace. mmmm

I have had mine for a good few months now and have not had any issues I would really be worried about. Most of my issues will be related to driver errors rather than car.

I know there are some software issues that people mention for different versions but I mostly use Android Auto so have not really noticed any problems. I would say that you are not going to get the performance for a car of this price anywhere else.

There's also some great Personal Lease deals on the Xpower at the moment if that floats your boat ! - saves worries about depreciation etc.

I love my Xpower but beware of poor MG dealers and lack of after sales care / repairs etc.... You can't even get software updates as part of the service routine unless you have a specific fault that requires it.

For that reason I probably won't get another MG but thats just IMHO.

My personal story.......in brief.

Owned the car a year.

Had vibes and an intermittent rear camera issue.

Changed tyres, vibes minimal.

Temperature sensor fault.

Fixed at second attempt.

Just had first service rear camera changed.

10000 miles in and yes, I could have got the camera done earlier but didn't get round to it.

I now have a local (ish) dealer I'm happy with and seem knowledgeable and attentive.

Not always the case for folk on here!

MG seem to have nailed the vibes on later cars and will do so on earlier cars at some point.

The X Power in particular has only been here a year and the regular car only a year before that so I am not surprised there have been teething issues.

The gearbox oil leak on early cars is now a thing of the past and I expect the vibe issue to go the same way.

It's a great package at an even better price now and unbeatable performance per pound spent.

In this modern era of social media we are lucky enough to see all those who have gone before us and make an informed choice.

(Not me though as I had the first X Power on the road last year!)

'You pays your money and takes your choice'

I have no hesitation in recommending the X Power, it is an excellent car.

If you can pair that up with a local, knowledgeable, helpful dealer, then it is worth your consideration.

I think we should expect MG to have this sorted in a year or so and for next gen vehicles.

Another year?? I've waited patiently for a year already for MG to come up with a fix. I'll be taking them to court before the end of my second year.

Remind me of your issue? I was talking about general enhancements.
You should read all the comments before you post chap, I read yours yesterday and it sounded like you were a sales person at Cinderford MG.

If you are in the market for an X Power, drive it on the motorway before you sign that dotted line..that's my advice

Well their reviews are good and they were helpful when I called. Obviously a warranty issue should be fixed. Sorry I forgot what the issue was beforehand.
