The official charging services have access to the vehicle taxation class data via DVLA, it was just an option for other benefits

Is ANPR the way that the London Authorities know not to send motoring fines to EV drivers as we get away without having to pay that enormous congestion charge? Incidentally, when it comes to EV matters, all us Owls fans should treat Blades ones as equals! And vice-versa mate!

ULEZ/Congestion charge in London use ANPR cameras. As does the LEZ (covers hgvs) which runs all the way to the M25. The QE2/Dartford crossing is now also ANPR

It tells them both if to charge due to the taxation class and where to send the bill. Some years ago there was some claim that the provision of data for the latter was in breach of the data protection act as we provide our address to register the vehicle, not for another government department to send us bills

No green bar on the numberplate? I thought that was mandatory these days ?

I've put a private plate on it now so told the dealer not to bother. New plate has green flash.

As can be seen above in post #106 mine came with the green flash with a union flag and UK on it.
Handy for my European escapades.

After waiting for what seemed like an eternity I collected my MG5 LR Exclusive yesterday. Beautifully presented by A E Wilcox, who were also kind enough to install a Jaguar rear number plate to avoid the unsightly black plastic strip.
