It's very reassuring that I seem to be getting similar performance in my PFL5...
Thanks everyone for sharing.

You don't have heated seats thenI totally agree with you it does seem strange but I would put my house on that there is no way I could get anywhere near 200 mls . My typical working day is around 6-7 hrs I only have the heating set at 22 degrees and the fan set on 3. I must add that I turn the heater off when I don’t have a customer in the car just to try and save the battery a bit but you soon get bloody cold. When I first bought the car I thought the miles I was getting wasn’t as good as my previous MG5. I bought it from an MG dealer so just to double check that everything was fine I booked it into another dealer and asked them to do a full check on the car they came back and said everything was fine. The car had 37 mls on the clock when I bought it. It’s a 23 plate.
I would absolutely fry if I had heated seats on and the temperature set to 22°C. I normally keep it on 18 or 19 with the seats on, but that probably wouldn't be very nice for a customer in a taxi. You don't have heated seats then
I only put the heated seats on for a shortwhile . I don't think any MGs have heated rear seats though I may be wrong . What I really miss from my previous cars is the heated steering wheel in the cold morningsI would absolutely fry if I had heated seats on and the temperature set to 22C. Sorry I was suggesting using your heated seat rather than the heater when you have no passengers quite agree about the heated steering wheel thoughI only put the heated seats on for a shortwhile . I think you replied to the wrong person .Should have been @JaumgSorry I was suggesting using your heated seat rather than the heater when you have no passengers quite agree about the heated steering wheel though
Battery heating during winter (concept) Battery heating pads. Best keep it in a heated garage, too!! The MG5/4 battery is a huge aluminium box, and has cooling channels with water/antifreeze built-in, so if you have a heater in the cooling cct. this would heat the battery if the coolant pump was running. shouldn't be too hard to engineer! My first winter weather with an EV and full charge range on my 24 facelift dropped to 180 miles.
Just wondering if this was average for MG’s in cold weather?
Admittedly the car lives outside and I am in North Wales.
I can confirm the heated seat is MUCH more energy efficient in winter, it heats your bum and legs directly, and then your feet also feel warm!I think you replied to the wrong person .Should have been @Jaumg![]()
No need to re-invent the wheel, that’s already in place, (see post #36), there is a 3kWh heater built into the ‘cooling’ circuit.Battery heating during winter (concept) Battery heating pads. Why did you have to charge to 100% to get back? I'd have done two smaller charges or charged to 80% and driven more slowly.I’ve noticed in the last week or so that on a full charge the range on my FL has plummeted to the point that it is getting impractical as a company car where I sometimes do a 200 mile round trip. In summer I would have about 30% battery left after 200 miles. Did 140 miles yesterday and was done to 18% left so had to charge to 100% to get home which took over an hour. Wish I’d stuck to petrol to be honest. They’re great for everyday local driving mind.
That's quite a winter drop in range. Summer 200 miles on 70% so extrapolated range 285 miles down to winter 140 miles on 82%, extrapolated to 170 miles range, a 40% drop.I’ve noticed in the last week or so that on a full charge the range on my FL has plummeted to the point that it is getting impractical as a company car where I sometimes do a 200 mile round trip. Well my LR is at 82% and is still showing over 200 miles of range though I know I won't get that unless we have an unexpected heat waveI’ve noticed in the last week or so that on a full charge the range on my FL has plummeted to the point that it is getting impractical as a company car where I sometimes do a 200 mile round trip. It was only easier if you had something else to do for the hour it took to charge. You will get to where you want to go much quicker if you charge to about 80%.It was just easier to charge to 100 whilst in Cheltenham rather than go off course to charge again on the way back to Sheffield. Yeah, the wind yesterday won’t have helped. Like I said, I think the car is great on local work jobs but when I’m on longer trips it can be a pain. The petrol car that I had before this would do 450 miles on a tank so. Could also be me getting used to the EV way of doing things also. Just wish they had better range
