Love the car btw but the stereo could do with some depth and volume.

Does anyone know how much the dc-dc converter can handle in watts?

Anyone got any experience in upgrading the stereo?

If you’re installing an amp and such, it’s exactly like any other car. Run new cables to the 12v battery and take the signal from the infotainment unit.
You’ll have to deal with the speaker level output though.

The headunit itself can’t be replaced, it’s a core part of the car.
Replacing the tweeters in the dash and the door woofers makes a significant improvement on its own.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I.e. how many Watts of amp can I safely add.

The wiring schematic for the infotainment is in the MG Service Circuit Diagram manual. Maybe something in there of use to you

Just replace all the OEM speakers, including the tweeters, with upgraded ones along with additional sound insulation in all the doors and trust me it will make a HUGE difference. This was one of the very first upgrades I did to my MG4 along with upgrading all the OEM tyres.

This chap has upgraded the audio on his MG4 Trophy.

He's a forum member, so may pop up and reply.

Yeah, I've watched this a few times. (Some excellent comic moments). I've got a similar spec amp. I wonder if he's had any issues. Really hope it's all working great for him, it's a really nice build (apart from being orange)
