Tailgate catch not engaging

Sometimes when driving we get the warning beep and dashboard light warning that the boot isn't shut. It will open without squeezing the release button. On some occasions it is resolved by stopping and slamming it shut but not always. Trying to check if is secure is a pain either because the key is close enough to release the lock; or else if the key is not present and car locked but boot not fastened it sets the alarm off.

This used to happen me on my evzs but i discovered other items in my pocket, where the key was, were pressing the boot open button.

Sounds like it needs a body shop to adjust the latch and/or the rubber stops.
