This will not help the brand one bit

He should name the dealerships that were bad! I don't understand why people don't do that.

And it was a shame when he said I wouldn't give it to my wife to drive... but in essence I'll sell it on Automtrader and someone else's wife can drive it instead.

I've not suffered the oil leak but I'll be honest after the LKA, my TPMS, a few various bugs with either the app or settings I'm not sure if I'd buy an MG again, atleast brand new.

The prices now are close to other brands I trust more.

I think the final nail in the coffin for Saurabh and his wife was being lied to by their dealer about the locking in software update patch, which I can fully understand. That’s a potentially very serious issue which should have been properly rectified by the dealer. It’s a shame because he genuinely enjoyed the car and wanted to keep it long term.

Mmmmm...if I went to pick up a new car and observed it had "two massive dents" on it I would not be accepting it at all and would demand a new one.
Yeah, that would have triggered alarm bells if that had been my dealership experience.

Yeah I feel he should have rejected it instead.
I couldn’t with good conscience sell a car on with problems.
That’s not to say the dealer wouldn’t sell it on with the same issues, but that’s on them.

I was lied to with my TPMS one tyre issue by St Helens dealership and I'll never go there again.

Chorley in my experience have been ok but again I wouldn't buy from there again. I'm sure chorley is one of the best out there, I've had terrible service in lots of other brands also. I still have the TPMS issue, but I'm living with it because I can afford to give my car away as we need it.

Hi Adam, I have had 2 MG5 and 1 MG4 never had a problem with the 5s in regard to TPMS but the MG4 can and does change all most daily so what was the problem you had please and how was it fixed.
Les.

Pretty much matches quite a few people's experiences on here, faults are one thing, but the dealer back up was extremely poor, does not bode well for warranty work further down the line.

I suppose MG cover this by giving a lot of parts next to no warranty cover 0-12 months only. Even the normal battery is only 12 months.

Some other videos on there complaining about the heating and software, again echoing some members experiences on here.

What dealer was it , please reply, not fit to trade, let a loan not fit for purpose

Same here @Les burrows .

I don't think I had any issues with my 5 apart from squeaky mirrors which were oiled and squeaky wheels when reversing which magically went away when i bought different tyres.

My TPMS I've had since I even drove the car from Chorley. They said they couldn't see any issue and it was on the way back. The front drivers side tyre just says zero pressure. The valve has been replaced and worked initially but now broke again. Been there 3 times now and it still says tyre is zero. I've given up on that one so I've always got that yellow warning sign.

Who is the dealer then?

Evidently some of you have crap dealers but
I don’t actually blame my dealer, really…
Unless the guy is a great actor and full of poo, the aftersales manager seemed as exasperated as I was and was being hamstrung by MGUK.
The distinct impression I got was MGUK knows little to nothing about this car and was having to message China all the bloody time.
Maybe they were spoiled by the 5, which seems remarkably reliable in comparison to the 4.
Resting on their laurels, maybe.
Whatever, It is quite remarkable how they can get one car so right in terms of reliability, but the other so wrong.
The ‘difficult second album’ story. ?

A question for Admin here on this forum.

Can some one explain to me why this morning I find the video which I posted at the very start of this thread is now not available to watch anymore blacked out and reads this video is PRIVATE
Les

I’d imagine either the owner of the video made it private, or blocked it from being viewed outside of YouTube - social media, forums etc. Often owners don’t want their videos viewed outside of YouTube as they won’t get their views registered that way. At least that’s how I understand it

Hi @Les burrows - nothing to do with anyone here, the video producer/owner/poster has done that. I was just going to post it's now private as I wanted to watch it!

I’ve been subscribed to Saurabh’s channel Let’s Talk Electric since last year and I can no longer see that video, Les. It looks like Saurabh has made the video private. I’m not sure why.

Thank you for your response to my question,
strange what has happen to that,I have just checked on YouTube where I copied it from to post here and it’s not there anymore, perhaps and because of some of the question about his experience he has done a runner in stead of giving some answers.

Looks like it's all down to ads, the 'content creators' get paid for mere mortals watching the ads before/during/after their videos.

If the links are used externally it messes with the ads, and the ad impressions aren't logged so they don't get their 2¢ per ad view.
