This will not help the brand one bit

I wonder if he has been approached by somebody at MG regarding his experience and has been asked to take down the video while they investigate?????.
My thought as well. If comments have generally been about naming the dealer in question, if they came acrosss the video they'd be very keen to get in front of it and stop themselves being named.

Thank you for your response to my question,
strange what has happen to that,I have just checked on YouTube where I copied it from to post here and it’s not there anymore, perhaps and because of some of the question about his experience he has done a runner in stead of give some answers.
Les
Interestingly , the earlier videos he posted did not mention the issues for which he returned the car.

Yes - there are quite a few questions about this video and it’s facts and credibility….

I do not doubt the credibility of his claims. It's obvious he's more a positive type than negative so that's why he's not dwelt on negatives previously.
Also when you buy a new car the chances are more that if there are issues you'll deal with them on your own rather than announce to the world and "feel" silly you've got a dud or been short changed. Ditto the touchiness of a few on here when others call to task MG and MG4s performance.
Then obviously everyone has a breaking point no matter how thick skinned they are. He just got to that point and hence he made the video.. When he sold BMW and was getting Tesla he didn't hint any problem about MG4. In fact said they were still keeping it so must have been after that video.

I can’t recall exactly but what he did mentioned was dents in the car on collection which where eventually repaired I think he also mentioned the oil leak and LKA plus some rattling and the door locks update he had. I think as lovemyev has hit the name do mail on the head above. And if he is right about some kind of investigation I hope who ever the dealer is who has his agreement with MG to provide there vehicles has it terminated.
As for the guy in the video he’s shut of the car that he was worried his wife might have an accident with with his kids in the car as far has he’s concerned that’s now for someone else to find out.

yes, perhaps it is all perfectly genuine and if so it really is terrible service. There are still aspects that probably will never be fully known properly.
If you’re in the camp that expects high standards when buying a new car it can be hard to understand how someone can be so tolerant. I would have failed at the first hurdle! Arriving to pick up my new car after a 2.5hr journey to find 2 large dents!
I would have binned it there and then and looked to be compensated for my time and journey.
Being tolerant is one thing, but allowing dealers to get away with this sort of thing just allows them to move on to the next victim.
Customers need to stick to high expectations and not lower them because the dealer is crap.

Yes sounds harsh but he's not going to keep it in his garage and take full £25 to £30k financial hit.

I started to waiver in my decision at the point when the lock in started as all I thought of was it happening to my wife and three year old. I still held on hoping there would be a fix before my delivery at the end of March (which there was)

I still like the 4 and only cancelled when they delayed my order from March end to May end. I may still buy it in future which is a big part of why I'm still on here as I really like the car.

It's not a bad car for a budget brand!! Once the iron out the kinks?

When only the SE is ‘cheap’, can it be called a budget brand?
The Trophy is right in the price mix with other brands that are viewed by many as premium (or certainly not budget).

You are correct in terms of the SE SR and the Trophy
Doesn't matter the price of the car the attitude of the manufacturer and some of its dealers are certainly budget, in a lot of cases.

The biggest thing for me was MGs take that you need to speak to the dealer all we do is sell them the car! When a member rang with a complaint.

Compared to my own cars manufacturer, who when I rang the about an update, phoned back with a pick of times and dates at two different dealers and then arranged for my car to be picked up and dropped off

You must be looking at different prices to me. From the prices I've seen for the VW, the Mégane and the Born, the trophy is still a good few grand cheaper.
Admittedly, I don't know what sort of discounts dealers are giving.
You could argue that on a 32k car, 4 thousand isn't a huge amount, but I'm struggling to see it as "right in the mix".
The Leaf has been getting plenty of "it's a good deal" chatter, but that comes with it's own concerns.

Happy to be enlightened.

Same exact figures for a trophy and a V2 born, £4000 deposit, 10000 miles a year, about £20 ish a month difference on PCP. That's before any potential discount on the Born.

Enlighten yourself, as anyone spending tens of thousands on a car should.
Surely….surely in this day and age you’re in the minority in only looking at RRP and not researching actual real world deals.
Even for those who are ‘hard of google’ there are companies like carwow will do it for you.

It used to be that you could get a deal on the rrp even a good discount

But these days there is more supply than demand and long waiting list so I doubt you could ask for a deal on the £26,995 MG4?

Two seconds on autotrader shows plenty of MG4 SE, brand new, in stock and with varying discounts.
