The time on my centre console is correct (Not carplay screen), the time on my dashboard is wrong, started at 00:00 and my iSmart is not responding to any commands. I get a request timeout message.

Would the wrong time on the dash cause the iSmart to not work?

Is the car not smart enough that the time on the dash is not synced with the time on the centre console? Seems like they were designed by two different departments that never collaborated!

I think there are a lot of problems with iSmart at present and it has been pointed out that they get worse when the temperature plummets. No idea why that would be so I am scratching my head but it seems accurate.

If I can persuade myself to go out in the cold I will check the time on my console / dash shortly and report back

Havent experienced the stability of the ISmart app now as we only get the ZS EV next week.

When we owned a ZS EV back between april and july 22, i remember there being plenty of times and situations where the app would fail to connect to the car.

Sadly it sounds like this has not improved.

I also have a chinese solar inverter, it has its own app and this app is equally as crap, failing to connect and so on.

Seems to be a chinese speciality to make connected devices with terrible connectivity o_O:giggle::giggle:

I also have a slow charger (obviously, Chinese made) with Wi-Fi connection but mine seems to work fine ...I'm not IT guru but I think they all use Chinese servers and it takes time for signal to travel back and forth ... and pass through a few spy checkpoints, ours and theirs, in between .. 😂

but, all of my Tuya smart switches, plugs, and other devices work instantly ...

I have loads of smart home stuff, the trick to get them to work great is to only choose stuff that works locally.

The workaround for the solar inverter has been to invest in a different monitoring software that runs off of a small Raspberrypi and reports directly to Home Assistant instead of through the Chinese servers.

The solar inverter was mainly shit, exactly because it had to send the data to the Chinese server, which was offline or overloaded a lot of the time.
