Anyone in Ireland got a good source for touch up paints? I've tried loads of paint places and no one even replies.
MG don't supply paints and it seems hard to get any paint for these cars in Ireland.
It's also hard to order because my car seems to be called a different colour everywhere I look, Flare Red, Dynamic Red and the paint code seems to be an internal code by mg.
I miss my old cars that just had a PPG plate paint code on the boot that any paint shop could recognise, even on Amazon.

Just enter your registration.

If it doesn't work with your plate, just pop onto Autotrader and find a UK plate car for sale in your colour.

I've had a touch up pen from them and it dried a perfect match.

Shipped to Ireland? I think they may be too expensive, shipping is EUR 15 plus there will be customs charges on top of that as well. If all else fails I might see if they will deliver to northern Ireland.

'MG don't supply paints' -if this is true, have we just bought throwaway cars? It seems every part query I read about seems to suggest there are no available parts, even service parts the likes of which we can get from dealers, motor factors (even Halfords!) for just about any other brand.
Hopefully an independent parts supplier will in time spot this huge gap in the market.

I think it's looking that way. If it's not under warranty you're on your own. Let's hope a lot of spurious parts can be fitted to these.

I took mine to the local bodyshop with a scratched wing and they didn't seem to have any problem matching the paint.

That's good news. Hopefully one of the aftermarket paint touch up firms will start producing little touch up pots for stone chips and the like.

...PaintNuts have it, they just need the paint code from the VIN plate. In touch-up pens, small 50ml bottles and rattle cans too. 50ml bottle ordered :=) Thanks Rolfe

Your paint code can also be found in the iSmart app. If you're on the 100 year theme, you click the little garage symbol in the corner. If you're on the base theme I think you just click where it says MG 4 at the top.

For my car it only gives the paint name not the code ... and in fact it says Andes Grey whereas in the UK it is known as Camden Grey. 🤷‍♂️

Mine too. It says Flare Red which isn't even the colour option in the brochure- they called it dynamic red. I suppose it's the only red they have so shouldn't be difficult to find it.

To southern Ireland? I don't think they deliver to the south going by their website.

You could email them, if they are willing it may cost very slightly more maybe? It might be worth looking if they list on eBay or Amazon, often the postage is sorted through the platforms.

Interesting, my app says “color NFZ/PBC” which I assume is a code for Volcano Orange, but I haven’t looked into that tbh

Found one on Amazon, Tailored Paint Company, they're an NI company. I put in a UK reg from a few searches and checked their number on the DVLA site to make sure it was a valid reg for the right model and colour car. I think I might give them a shot. It's only Eur 24 all in, including delivery and taxes plus it saves me the hassle of customs because Amazon looks after all of that. I might even be able to return it if it's not right.

Just an update to this. I managed to get paint from Tailored Paints on Amazon delivered last Thursday.
I used a UK registration number to get the colour matched. Cost was eur 25 all in, including delivery and customs (no prime delivery on these).
Paint seems to be correct but weather was so bad this weekend and my car is so filthy after driving back roads all week that I'm going to have to wait until next weekend to try it out.
The paint comes in two bottles, undercoat and top coat and includes a few applicators and gloves in the set.
Hopefully next weekend is dryer.

A car painter should be able to supply
