What the thread title says. Do you have some way to stop all your doors automatically locking when your speed goes over 10 mph? And if so, how do you do it?

This was discussed somewhere on another thread, and I think Trophy owners said they could do it, but if that's the case I don't think anyone said how it's done. All I can find in the manual is on page 247 where it simply says that all doors will lock at 10 mph and nothing at all about how to stop this from happening.

It's driving me absolutely nuts; I get the screaming ab-dabs every time I hear the sound of the doors locking me in. I'd really like to know if this is something only the SE owners are forced to endure, or it it's the same on the Trophy. I've never before had a car where this couldn't be disabled.

I guess it depends on where you are. I've been driving for 50 years and never had anyone try to get into my car, or indeed had that happen to anyone I know. Conversely, many years ago, I was a passenger in a car only two or three behind a car which suddenly burst into flames. There was a gas leak from a manhole cover, a traffic jam caused him to stop over the cover, and presumably his spark plugs did the rest. There was no such thing as auto-lock then. Everyone got out of the car safely, but the car was burned to a shell. (Actually I doubt if this is an issue with the auto-lock, I think the doors always open from inside unless you have the child lock activated.)

In fairness to my driving instructor, she did also tell me to activate the car locks when stationary or nearly so in areas that seemed dodgy - maybe to underline the point she actually did this while we were sitting at traffic lights during a lesson, claiming not to like the look of some guy who was hanging around.

I'm fine about activating the central locking myself, if I think it's prudent. It's just the clunk of the auto-lock that gives me the absolute screaming ab-dabs.

At the moment I genuinely think it is merely a bug in the SE software. There is zero reason for this to have been a deliberate choice on the part of the developers. If they'd wanted to pinch a couple of pennies they'd have omitted the auto-locking feature in the SE!
There are clearly two teams of software writers. I totally agree, the SE could easily have a software switch for auto locking at zero cost.

With the other software problems such as no pre-heat when plugged in after charging it’s not going to be high priority for them.

Is there any chance you could learn to not hate it? Where I live, the badlands of Wolverhampton, I’m pleased that automatically there’s no external access to the car for robbery, car jacking etc after I set off if I stop at traffic lights. I know where you live, it’s nice.

Of course the doors can always unlock directly anytime from the inside handles, by any handle after powering down, and all unlock automatically if a crash is detected. So I don’t see it as a major problem unless I’m missing something.

Do your own research Rolfe and ask your dealer. This thread is becoming tiring now
I don’t mind auto-lock, indeed I like it. But it is a useful thread debating the parallel but different software features and bugs of the SE and Trophy.

If I’m irritated with a thread, I vacate it and don’t look at it. Just a thought.

You are maybe missing the point, perhaps I was being too polite :) There is also a thread already discussing this.... linked above in post #26
