So as some of you may remember, I'm getting adaptations to my car and it's going ahead tomorrow. The installation takes a good few hours and I was just wondering if there's a way to turn off the car with the doors open just to avoid battery drain whilst the installer is working?

You can turn the car off through the infotainment screen. Swipe to the settings page, select vehicle, safety, and at the bottom you will see “power off”. However, as soon as the car detects someone (or any weight for that matter) sitting in the driver seat the car will come back on.

If your HV or traction battery is more than 50% charged, it should automatically keep the 12V battery topped up.

You could also just disconnect the 12V battery, which the installer might need to do anyway.

Thanks so much I will have a look at that setting. Yeah I was wondering if they'll need to disconnect the 12V. My traction battery is at 95% so I shouldn't have any issue.

FWIW, the 12v won't drain when the car is on, the 12v charges when it's on, in Ready or not in Ready mode.

Well - it should charge up the 12V battery. But anecdotal evidence suggests that it might not do this when the HV battery SoC drops below 50%, sacrificing the 12V battery to protect the HV battery. (Why MG have chosen such a high SoC for this trigger point is anyone's guess - the sacrificing part is expected, just the point at which it starts doing so seems ludicrously high).
