I quite like the curly ones

That's a good idea in theory but it could lead to the cable draping over your car if it was a stretch between car and charge point.

Depends if you drive in forwards should be fine and keeps cable off floor

That was why I said "could" rather than "would".
Fine if the charge point were in front of the car but more difficult if it were at the side or offset :)

Not a big fan of the "Pig Tail" type leads really myself.
I never liked them on the air lines in the garage to be honest.
Not directly the same thing I know, but because they are extendable, some people seem to think they have an unlimited reach and over stretch them !.
The wide coils in the "Pig Tail" cable, makes it hard to store the cable out of sight in the boot.
Personal hate of mine, charging cables on show when you open the boot .
Okay - If you wish to raise the boot cover board I guess ?.
Fine if you had a one of them fancy "Frunk" trays under the bonnet :giggle:.

Me neither, I'd rather have my cable flat on the floor when I'm walking round the car, saves my old knees striding over a suspended cable like those.

Here is one I bought about two years ago, it is still at the same price of £114.00 including VAT.
It is the 32 Amp 7.2 kw rated lead, at the usual standard length of 5m but you CAN order one at 10m for an extra cost, but this is likely to be hard to keep tidy in the boot of your car.
It is a good quality lead and the price is reasonable.

I brought my spare from them, but the 22kw version (Zoe supports 22kw).
I'd argue it might be worth paying the little bit extra in the long term in case you get an EV that supports > 7kw in the future.

I tried with my dealer but he said you have already had more gifts than I usually dish out. But I did squeeze a set of rubber mat out of him. After we had done the deal?
Well done you !.
I never got anything from my dealer when I bought our ZS EV in Jan 2020.
Not even a follow up phone call after we had taken delivery !.
Don't worry, I did ask for some matt's or even a charging cable - but NO bugger all !.

EV neewb question:
How often do people need to use their own Type 2 cables? Dont most public charging points have tethered cables?

The vast majority of 7 kw public posts do NOT provide a Type 2 lead !.
If you have a tethered wall box ( like myself ) then your usage of a Type 2 cable is going to be small.
However, without a cable your charging options are vastly reduced !.

Ok, so If I can't persuade my dealer to "throw in" a type 2 cable, where is the best place to buy one?
