I know I have read this somewhere but my searching failed me lol

Am I right in saying Type 2 is always AC?

The ZS has an onboard AC max of 6.6kW?

So therefore never any advantage to using a type 2 fast charger over 7kW?

Hi, that is correct.
The CCS connector is DC.
You can get 3 phase 22kW type 2 but only a few MG 4's support this up to 11kW.

European spec ZS's have 3 phase as it's quite common on the continent. UK is normally single phse for your domestic supply.

11kW on board is available in EU. Depending on country either as a standard or option.
Not offered in UK, and I think Eire, at all though.

Atleast for Denmark, they only had 3 phase charger from launch of the MG ZS EV.

Now they have both 1 phase and 3 phase chargers and you will have to pay extra for the 3 phase charger.

Imagine a 1 phase AC charger option only, when we use 230V 16A circuits with 3 phases to get 11 kW.

The 1 phase chargers will only get 3.6 kW on a public 11 kW charger.

I know some of the public chargers are 11/22 kW, and on those you would of course get 6.6, but that's still a far cry from the 11 kW that we normally get.

In the UK (or with a UK spec ZS), no.
Ours (and all EU spec ZS) support 3 phase AC charging up to 11kW.
