Morning everyone,
I had my car's first service this week. It's done a little over 8k miles and the two front tyres came up as an advisory at 3mm wear each. Just wondering how other's have faired on here as I wasn't expecting as much wear. My tyres are the factory supplied Maxxis Bravo. Is this normal does anyone know or believe?

Thanks

Blimey! That's low for the first service. The third service on my Gen 1 ZS EV still had 5mm of tread depth recorded on the service sheet. Mind you it was lower than average mileage.

Do you do a lot of hard acceleration?
No not at all, just normal driving - I rarely even put it in sport mode. I do a bit of motorway as a commute each day. Can't work out why they are so low other than maybe the brand isn't that good.

I had the same issue on our ZS TLR first service after 11,000 miles with our front tyres. Wheel spin issues partly to blame I guess when pulling away at junctions 😫.

My 2 year service, 21,000 miles had an advisory on the tyres. Have you checked the depth yourself?

are they M+S tyres? some are softer and so wear much faster, it really depends on type of the tyre unless you are like me and spin wheels every now and then ...

My ZS EV 2022 after 25,000 miles has still got over 4mm all round on the original Michelin Premecy 3s fitted from new.

I swapped the supplied Maxxis tyres (which are “all season” but seemed to offer very little grip in any condition) for Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons SealTech on delivery pretty much. Fronts are at 5mm after 13000 miles, this is probably 50% country lane driving so lots of heavy braking too.

Mk2 SR here - After 25,000 km our fronts were down to about 2mm of tread left, the rears had little wear on them. Had them rotated and hopefully can extend the period at which they all need to be replaced. The tyres fitted to the car are Maxxis. Let's just say the replacement tyres will be a different brand. The tyres had not been previously rotated.

In Australia, MG has set the servicing interval at 40,000 km which is my opinion is really stupid. They should advise tyre rotations at earlier intervals. The car is driven mainly by the other half and I inspected the tyres out of curiosity as I am mechanically minded and was shocked at the wear. I shudder to think that someone who is not mechanically inclined will be driving around on bald front tyres before they get to their first service interval.
