Unexpected braking y'think ??

I’ll tell you the only real problem I’ve had with my MG5 ghost braking or lane keep mystery steering. It’s when after roadworks have necessitated remarking lanes and after work completion they “rub out” the marks to reinstate the lanes. I have found the car trying to follow the blacked out temporary lane markings.

According to the Mail and the Telegraph shouldn't that car have caught fire and torched the entire breakers yard by now?

For clarity, updating the infotainment version does not alter the ACC operation. My Trophy had SCUK001 which includes the ACC change. The infotainment system stayed at 1300R33.

This is obviously a result of the car behind going w-a-a-y too fast. Not the MG's fault at all, and I think people here moaning about the on-board computer have got the wrong end of the stick. For what it's worth, I have only once had the emergency braking occurence, and the guy behind was probably startled, but keeping the correct distance, so no collision.

The only time my Trophy has activated an actual braking event is when I have been a bit cavalier in going for a gap. I set the sensitivity on low (which the car remembers) and it really hasn't been a problem in 22k miles.

Had our first experience of emergency auto brake today.
Not long after leaving the car applied the brake on a quiet road. I don't know why. Turned the car off and on at the next lights to reset it.

The only possibilities were:
  1. cars parked that were being overtaken, but there was a long line of them
  2. there was a pedestrian safely on the pavement on the other side of the road (who turned around perhaps wondering what the skidding sound was for).
  3. a car coming around a corner a long way ahead, perhaps it was manoeuvring suspiciously!
  4. I accidently brushed the brake slightly without realising and the car thought I was reacting to something.
I'm guessing it was a brake touch but will just have to see if happens again.

Looks like the front right side door would open after a smack in the bum that’s awesome, I would say car was stationary when hit as No forward damaged visible from pic.
