unreliability survey

Looooool.

What car survey is still live. Please fill the survey to give a better stat to the market

Does match my experience, I've had a series of problems and generally average-to-poor after-sales experience. Some issues still not resolved, many visits to the dealer and the longest wait I had was 4 months to get AC charging fixed.

I still love the car but it has been the least reliable car I've ever owned.

Sorry to hear about the AC charging you have suffered. Mine has been small and fixed by the dealer with no charge.

Why not? Surely we want a true and accurate picture? I hope all the people who have had a trouble-free experience also complete the survey.
Totally agree but I got the impression the op was maybe looking for a more positive spin to be added and to help the result.
It does however appear to be an accurate reflection of many people's experiences of dealing with MG UK and that is as it should be

Yes, absolutely. I'd love to be in the small minority and if this survey showed that I'd accept it was my bad luck. But I have long suspected that a decent percentage of people get problems.

Oh and it is a shame this isn't broken down by trim, separating SE and Trophy and XPower owners etc... SE owners seem to get fewer problems generally.

The SE LFP car seems to be the sweet spot for the MG 4 and most reviews reflect that. The further up the range you go you seem to encounter more issues, especially with the poor operating system, The ER doesn't get mentioned that often but I think that reflects smaller sales figures.

The testing thing for the brand is the long term quality and reliability, I note you are seeing issues with your seats. this may not impact first owners but will certainly impact second and third and those who intend keeping the car as long as they can.
The quality of materials used will come into play and a lot of them will have dropped off the warranty

Also making the headlines on the Car Dealer site.

MG named the most unreliable used car brand as top 10 worst manufacturers revealed

The Chinese outfit also had the least reliable EV – the MG4 – which received an overall mark of 63.8%.

Just breaking down the sample size against the number of cars MG have sold in the UK and you are looking at around 1% sample size for the brand and specifically the MG4.

So if you make the title of the article 1% of UK MG owners reported their car as unreliable it kind of puts a different spin on things.

Ive done 8,000 miles in my MG4 SE LR demonstrator over the last 4 months and not had a single issue or breakdown, currently on R33 headunit software, not had an issue with charging either
i'm hoping once mines back on the road i'l have a similar experience, i want to love the car but so far its the software letting it down

I said I had no issues, because I've not had anything that has interfered with my use or enjoyment of the car. I did mention irritating software bugs that had been largely addressed by a software update.

I had the undertray warp, but I wouldn't even have known about that if it hadn't been for this forum alerting me that I should look under the car. My charging port lights have malfunctioned, but that's a bit of a nothing-burger really. I mean, if that's all one has to complain about, in a car that drives like an absolute angel, we're pretty well off.

I've only had mine 3 weeks and 800 miles, I spent time reading these forums before it was delivered, it did worry me a little. Still to this day I keep my foot on the brake when I park up and until I open the door.

I've not had any LKA issue when I forgotten to turn it off, we'll no more than the problem LKA is itself in every car I've owned, I drove for 20+ years prior to LKA being a feature and managed to keep the car in the correct lane and on the road by using the round thing in front of me.

I don't believe I have any vibes, I have felt something but I think I was looking for it, I put it out of my mind and did 250 miles on the motorway at 65 -70ish mph a few days ago, I wasn't reminded of it at any point during my journey.

The infotainment boots up quickly for me and AA is up and running before my garage door has opened and I can drive away.

I am not an audiophile but I like my music, the audio settings from default are awful but after some tweaking it is actually really good. I don't listen to the radio and find all car in built Sat nav to be far behind AA with Google maps or Waze. Not interested in the hotspot either.

No issue with charging at home or on a public charger, it has been faultless.

Acceleration is incredible, even on wet roads.

In summation I'm really happy so far.....

I'm hoping this won't change :D

Little point having a 7 year warranty if you, more often than not, fail to honour it and charge for the repair.
Genuinely shocked with the results and I must say, I think I swerved the right way when I cancelled my order. GL to all those souls still trying to get work done under "warranty".

Agree, but, that doesn't sound as bad. And for me that's what they are after. ?

I've had the undertray fix and R33 applied under warranty, and am due to have the charging port lights replaced under warranty in a few weeks.
