But carplay is working on my wife's iPhone. How come?
I had the same problem. I realized that my iPhone’s charging port was full of dust, which prevented the connector from making a perfect connection. I went to the Apple Store, and they cleaned it for free in just two minutes. After that, everything started working properly again. They explained that CarPlay needs a perfect connection to be recognized, unlike simple charging where the contact can briefly interrupt and then resume without major issues. But carplay is working on my wife's iPhone. Nah it's not that. My wife phone is still fine.I've had that a few times before but sporadically. I assumed I wasn't letting the car boot up properly before plugging it in and after trying again a couple more times it seems to work fine again. Just one of those things.
What are the differences between your phone and your wife’s phone?Nah it's not that. My wife phone is still fine.
Also worth taking a dish sponge (the slightly abrasive spontex type) to the ends of the cable too- that was my issue, worked like a dream after all dried off. The lightning connector elements are shocking for crud building up over time.I had the same problem.
