Im sure Im missing something obvious here, I press the voice button on the steering wheel and nothing happens.

Does the FL MG5 Trophy not have voice commands? is there a setting somewhere I need to enable it?

Thanks - J

The voice commands do not activate anything on the car. They are intended to work when your phone is connected and allows you to interact with it.

I had all of that on my Citroen C5 and, on balance I prefer having voice control of Android Auto. Although, the one thing I do miss with the MG5 is how good the Citroens climate control was - I set the temperature to what I liked and then never had to adjust it. The MG5 never quite seems to get get it quite right on its own.

Your Trophy should have voice commands such as Play Radio, Volume Up/down, Warmer, Cooler, temperature up/down, increase fan speed, pause music, navigation, go home, go to office, Call Joe Bloggs etc. I don't know why Paul Mason up there said they only work through the phone. Maybe he has an old model (mines a Jan'24 ZS EV).
Once you press the button it doesn't do anything, but should show something on the screen to say it's waiting for a command. It's no Alexa or Google Home but it's ok for simple stuff when you want to keep your eyes on the road.
Here's a list - not all work on mine but many do

I don't know about the ZS, but it certainly has no function on the MG5 and I have owned both types. Is yours the Trophy Connect model, by any chance?

From the MG website:

"One of the functions we like to highlight is voice control. With the exception of the MG iSMART Lite version – which you’ll find in the MG ZS EV Comfort and MG5 Electric and doesn’t offer voice control – the iSMART system in the MG Marvel R Electric and MG ZS EV Luxury is easy to operate using voice commands."

It doesn't. Maybe in other countries but definitely not on mine.
