I picked up my MG ZS SE late December and so far happy, however the other day the car started to beep with no warning message. I pulled over and beeping stopped but as soon as I selected D or R it started again. Had no choice but carried on but after I passed a speed camera it stopped.

I have passed the same speed camera at least 6 times beforehand and no warning beeps. I also passed it 5 hours later on the way home and no beeps.

Anyone else had anything similar?

On the built in Navigation, click the settings wheel - alerts- speed camera warning needs turning off

So you think it's the speed camera alert?

Can anyone confirm you get constant beeps until you pass the camera?

Still not sure why is only triggered once.

Is it a high pitched beeping? As I am an MG Dealer, its the only warning sound that people have mentioned to me about that they dont know what it is and it tends to be the speed camera alert from the sat nav

Yes, started about 100 yards from speed camera and just kept beeping. Wasn't using sat nav at the time and as mentioned first time it has done it albeit I have passed this camera multiple time.

I'll see if it happens again and switch to the nav and see if anything shows up.

Nothing will show up, even on the nav, its just one of the navigation settings, accessed by the speed camera alerts

Passed the same speed camera this morning and beeps started again and stopped once passed. Very annoying as each beeps pauses the audio. When I parked up I went into the nav settings and there are a lot of settings for warning sounds, schools, hospital, congestion zone, dangerous area etc.

I have changed them all to visual only except for speed camera and I have lowered the beep volume to see how that goes.

Thanks for your advice.

There are settings in the satnav system to fiddle with, as well as in the safety settings. I had the same problem and switched everything off. Still had the problem. Then I noticed that the beeping happened when the blue warning line in the lane assist system stayed on for ‘too’ long: ie I was driving on the line, on the very edge of my lane! Found that I could cause the beeping by doing that, or stop it by moving off the centre line. I presume it happens on the off side, too., but that’s more risky to test. In ACC, the car will correct you but it takes only a light touch to counteract that and keep it out of the lane, so it warns you. I’ve grown to like it. Or respect it, anyway.

Happened to me last night & today, I’m sure it’s to do with lane assist as all my other alerts have been fine.

Mine is for the speed camera. Always have lane assist off as I'm rural. Just wish it would beep once or twice and not every second until you pass. Took 50 seconds to get pass it the other day and had to pause audio as the beep interferes with it.

lol! I know what you mean, I have 3 speed cameras on a quarter of a mile stretch 1 min from my home. I can’t a void them.

I would like to know if the MG ZS hybrid+ really works on EV mode for some time/km without using fuel. I drive 4 +4 km per day to take my kids to school and wonder if these trips could be made in electric mode... Thank you on advance

Hi Syd - yes when the car starts beeping and you have no warning lights its a bit worrying. Strangely after adjusting all my settings, it now does not beep when I pass that speeding camera albeit I left that one on.

amr - Might be best to start a new post but from my point of view, yes EV kicks in but not as much as I would have thought although suspect its due to is being cold.

Whilst the ZS Hybrid can do 4kms in EV mode only (and 8km probably in theory), it will typically start the engine once you get in it, and usually also try to bring it up to temperature before it shuts down again. ALso, this is not a plug in, so at some point you would anyway run out of juice and the engine would kick in to charge. Also, unlike some other hybrids, the ZS has no button or mode to force it into EV mode, like e.g. Toyotas .

So under the right conditions, it could probably do the school run, but those would be very specific ideal situations, like not too cold or too warm, battery fully juiced after say a longer motorway drive. etc., and the car needs to feell like it wants to do that.

I drove away from work today at an outside temperature of 13 degrees, the battery was a little more than half full and the air conditioning was set to 20 degrees. The car travelled about 1.5 km purely electrically before the combustion engine kicked in. I was totally surprised in a positive way.

Once engine warms up,I have noticed that EV kicks in,even in the cold weather.

I too have had same beeping. Asked the dealer who could offer me no explanation. As i had a passenger record a video of it on phone showed the video to the dealer.
I have followed the route of settings in navigation and not yet gone back off.
