I know that there;s a lot of talk about the beeping inside the new HS when driving - attention monitor, speed change, speed exceeded and so on, but I have a different question to ask.
When I leave the car, to pay for petrol for instance, leaving my wife inside the car with my keys, it beeps the hooter at me. If I press the "close boot" button, and lock the car before it's finished doing it's thing, it beeps the hooter at me. If I leave the car, for instance to pop something into the boot whilst de-frosting the car, it beeps the hooter at me,
Each Monday and Friday morning, I leave home around 6am to go the gymn, The car has needed defrosting a number of times before I could leave, and the calm morning air is rent assunder as I leave the car to pop the scraper into the boot, forgetting the beeping thing until it's too late.
I understand why I'm being beeped at, but as a nominal grown-up, I'd like to choose my own leaving-the-car behaviour, either "ignition on" so I can keep the heating running, or maybe I just sometimes like to pay for petrol without being supervised by my wife, and I would like to do it without being shouted at by a recalcitrant MG.
I've looked though all of the menus to see if I can find an option to disable this beeping behaviour, but can't see anything - am I missing something, or is this just something else in my life over which I have no control (alongside the wife, kids, dogs etc).
