I bought my MG4 in 2022. The driver's door button has stopped working. Anyone knows whether this is under warranty or not.

I have tried for 4 days to get hold of the service department in two MG franchises to ask this question but no one picks up the phone !!!!!

I can't find anything specific in the warranty except for 12 months cover for the Charging Flap door and cable.

I would guess that they will say the same for the door mechanisms including the button.

Not good enough IMO, but you can always try if your ever get to speak to someone about it.

Ring my dealer...OC Davies Cardigan.

Too far for you I know but at least you will get an answer.

Thank you. will do.

My driver's door button was replaced under warranty just after my 2-year service back in September. They will quote you a fee in case it's not under warranty but it's covered.
I had flap and both door buttons replaced under warranty but may have been within the first year. That's not much help for fshuk1 though.

I had a rear door lock replaced on my ZS EV at 2.5 years old under warranty (same warranty as the MG4 basically).
I think most things that are not listed as exclusions are covered for at least 3 years.

The headline warranty is (was?) 7 years. That means that anything not specifically excluded in the warranty document (that was in force at the time you bought the car) is covered for the full warranty term.

I had this replaced under warranty.

It never worked. We got the car in January so I think it had suffered from being used in frosty weather right before we got the car.

They had to get in the part and then paint it.

Luckily I followed up after a few months because it turned out they had got the part and painted it but not thought to contact me to arrange the fitting (which required a whole day). In the end it was near time for the annual service so I asked the two things to be combined together.

To answer your question - yes they will do it. And they won't mind because MG head office will pay them for it. But the customer service might not be great.

Never saw a warranty document, to be honest.

My dealer explicitly went through the documents included with the car, specifically the CoC and warranty documents. You should go back to your dealer and ask for the docs that are missing.

Yeah, initially I thought it was just the EV bits that were covered for the full 7 years, but then saw the last of the old shape MG3 ICE had a 7 year warranty as well.

Long story short, the car is now booked for a fix, on warranty.

Moral of the story: Find a good dealer and support them. Any dealer that gives you excuses or not returning your calls is like a bad relationship. Get out of it quickly.
