Hi, has anyone else found that Waze doesn't connect to the car when phone is connected? It automatically goes to Google maps instead! I have a Samsung 21, not sure if the type of phone makes any difference!
Thanks

Use AMIGO, it's much better ?
I'm trying it out ... mixed feelings at the moment as the maps are a bit out of date, and it doesn't find Home via voice command even though I've set it as a Place. Visually it is better than Maps or Waze though.

I find that Android Auto for me remembers the last satnav app I used - whether Maps, Waze or AmiGo. ?‍♂️

With my iPhone it can make a difference if Google or Waze is active before you connect. In most cases it switches to the active navigation app when you plug in the phone.

Have you set up your preferences in the Android Auto app on your phone?
Thanks not sure how I do this? I seem to have the app downloaded but can't actually find it on my phone to open it. So when I search play store it only gave me the option to uninstall but doing a search for the app on my phone and it isn't there!

Not doing that for me!

Ditto for me (pre-facelift MG5).
Nope! ?

Settings, Apps, See all apps, Android Auto, Additional settings in the app, (scroll down to) Display Customise launcher.

Alternatively (this is the case for my Samsung Galaxy A54) go to Settings>Connected devices and you should find Android Auto listed there, where you can also find the menu to select which apps appear on the AA screen in your car. I don't think you can access AA "directly" on your phone (as in open it) unless the phone is "connected" to your car, either by wired or wireless connection.

@Newtali

Can you tell us exactly which phone you have and which version of Android is installed on it? Also, which version of Android Auto, if possible.
Hi, I think I have sorted this now by uninstalling and reinstalling Android auto. It then updated and seems to be fine!

Two remaining issues are not being able to make most phone calls from the car, except by manually doing the menu (not much help when I am driving!) Not sure if this is the car or my phone but it used to be fine in my old car!
And the second issue is that the passenger windows randomly open slightly! It seems to be linked to locking, unlocking or opening or closing the door.

Same question again re. calls - WHICH PHONE?

Windows dropping is mostly related to accidentally touching the window controls when getting out of the car, as they're quite sensitive and slightly raised in profile.

It definitely isn't in this case as it has happened when I am outside the car shutting the door!

The phone is a Samsung 21. It's about 3 years old I think.

The window limit sensors might need resetting. Fully open the passenger window and hold the switch in the open position for 10 seconds. Then fully close the window and hold the switch in the close position for 10 seconds.

Ah ok, the dealership advised to do this with widow closed (which didn't work) but not open as well. I will give this a go. Thanks!
