What car did your MG3 replace ? ??

Ours was a 2016 Fiesta diesel, a much better car we realise now, much better MPG, this POS won't get more than 45MPG no matter how we drive it, and I'd not trust it to overtake either.

DS are trying to establish themselves as a stand alone premium brand, with their own unique products.
However as far as the UK is concerned, the dealer network, and promotion of DS UK just isn’t up to the task.
You have to be able to provide ‘premium’ service to compete with the established premium brands, and this is where they fall down.
Whilst I don't disagree, my own experience with "established premium brands service (Mercedes-Benz)" was enough to make me move elsewhere. I eventually chose MG3+ and in my case it has been a good choice. The MG is more comfortable, nicer to drive, has lot's more tech (that you don't have to pay extra for) and is also considerably cheaper. Only downsides are not being able to permanently switch off speed limit warning and lane keep assist.

2017 Honda Civic 1.5 turbo CVT Prestige, bought in June 2018 traded for an MG3 in December 2024 with 105,000 miles on the clock. The MG is much easier to park, more comfortable and I really like the dash saying EV!

The decision to buy an MG3 Hybrid+ is often based on a number of factors.

You decide to leave your previous car behind for the MG that will become your future companion.

It would be intriguing and interesting to know what make and model of car you had before your MG3.

What do you regret?

What have you gained with your new MG3?

As I initiated this post, I'll begin.

Thank you all for responding so that you can get an idea of what the MG brand has conquered in this B segment.

So let's get going!

My previous car was :

A grey 109 HP Honda Jazz exclusive Hybrid that was just over 4 years old and had about 30,000 km.
I regret the slightly higher fuel consumption...and the MAGIC seats.

What I have gained is a more responsive and comfortable car.... as well as full equipment and software control.

and you ?
I had a Mazda 6 for 17 years. Great car but didn't need car as big for replacement as family all left home so a smaller car would do. Always thought I would replace it with a Mazda 3 but they have grown in size to nearly as big as my old 6. Spent 3 months looking and test driving new cars and for equipment and price I couldn't go past the MG3. I have had it for just over a month and love it.

My lad spent a year in NZ from 23-24 and bought a 2007 2 litre petrol Mazda Axela saloon (3 over here). Cracking car in brilliant condition and thoroughly reliable with 12 months WoF and he sold it for more than he bought it for. The bloke was well chuffed!

Previously I had a 2014 MG3, then a 2018 MG3. Yes am an MG nut having two classic MGs already. Can always go out in an MG in any weather. I found the old MG3s pretty reliable but were gutless and a very harsh ride for passengers. This new MG3's ride immediately impressed as did the oomph! The consumption appears to be slightly better if driven sedately, so no real advantage especially with the upcoming ridiculous costs of servicing. Nearly a year old now I have had perfect reliability with no reason for any warranty work. Getting used to driving an electric motor without charging I think is a good idea but the lack of an engine note at a speed is terrible for me, so have to use cruise almost continuously so Mr Plod doesn't catch me out. I don't like a lot of the controls being hidden/virtually impossible to find while driving - bring back switches! The old MG3s were so much simpler, but I have to say the immediate acceleration off the mark can be very useful.

Of the small/midsized cars we have had as a family, which is an Astra, 2 x Tipos, Punto, Corsa, Golf and Civic, this MG3 hybrid is my favourite and I think that is because it has the acceleration that the big cars, the Jaguar S -Type, various Volvos & Honda Legend, we have had.

Came from a 2004 1.6 ford focus zetec to the MG3 Hybrid trophy.
Depends how long the MG3 lasts to when i next get another new car.
Hopefully lasts as long as my old focus.
