after trouble free ownership of a Hyundai Ionic 28kWh and all its simplicity i traded in for a 2019 zs ez
(fed up banging head)
after working out how to charge,(lock the car!) and can see the dashboard stating charging, apparenty there is a "breathing badge?" to say charging?
googled location, checked forum, stared at badge that pops up to charge, but can see no wires and no clue???
i am a little ocd with my podpoint at home as it sometimes bitches because of my solar panels and stops charging after 5 mins
anyone able to illuminate me exactly where with a picture?

beginning to feel slightly miffed with the car as i came from a hyundai ionic 28kw that was literally child's play!

will need to read the manual as everything i set up seems to default when turned off and cant figure out how to save?

eg always powers up in normal, and i always set it to eco

is there an app?

The breathing light is at the mg badge on the front grille, it just pulses when charging, the mg zs ev always defaults to normal when switched off, no great deal to flick it to eco when you start.

The MG grill badge will omit a slow blue pulse when the car is being charged, when it reaches 100% fully charged and you then wish to continue to balance the pack, the MG badge will then change and omit a steady low light constant blue glow.
When the balance cycle is complete, the car will signal your Wall box / Granny unit to switch into it's standby state and the MG badge will go out.
You are unable to "Save / Store" your personal driving mode settings for next FOLLOWING trip, as soon as the car is powered down, it will always default back to NORMAL mode and REGEN level 3 when powering up again.
The MG ZS EV does have some odd behaviours that take a bit of getting use too !.
Oh ........ Sorry the MG ZS EV ( Gen1 ) does not have a working App in the U.K. and NO it can not be upgraded, only the Gen 1 model in Thailand, has a working App.
The new face lift ( Gen 2 ) model in the U.K. does indeed have a working App though.

Ok thanks for that. Biggest issue is getting it
Actually charge,!
Unlock
Plug in
Lock.
Walk away.
2.5 hours later my pod point says plugged in 2.5 hours, charged 14 mins and added 1.6 kw
I'm stuck with 31 miles charge

Tried granny charger(a Hyundai one as not one supplied with car) and podpoint, both drop charge after a few mins so suspect it needs that charging software upgrade

Mine's white not blue.?

You shouldn't need to lock to charge, dealer software update that was sorted long long ago, obviously the cars previous owner didn't bother.

Yeah - Sorry I am confusing Gen 1 and Gen 2 models.
Gen 1 model is white soft constant glow, it comes for within the MG badge itself.
When the charge port door hinges up, you can see the wiring loom that supply’s the signals to the lights in the MG badge.
The Gen 2 has a ladder climbing set of indicator lights inside of the charging port and they are bright blue in colour when charging, green when not.

Not that it makes much difference, but why does not have a “Granny” charger in the boot ?.
All ZS EV’s where provided with the car as standard equipment.
The type 2 cable was not included, unless you had a kind dealer !.

Presumably the previous owner or the selling dealer kept it...

Mine is a 2020 MG ZS EV & still needs to be locked to charge, Still on 455v too even after it's first service last December.

Ditto after 2 services.
I'm not fussed about AC charging unlocked, as where I charge (Tesco's and home) I always lock it anyway.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. ;)
