Hi, I recently upgraded my WiFi and now my home charger has lost its connection to my charger app. Is it possible to charge the car without WiFi using my home charger

I would say that is a question specific to your charger. You will need to check in a forum for your charger.
MG4 does not require a wifi connection to charge.

Sorry, I can't be of more help

Probably doesn’t recognise the new wifi
Exactly. But the details of how to enter the new Wifi SSID and password depends on the "charger".

In the meantime, I imagine it should be possible to start a charge without the app.

At a pinch, you could use the "granny charger" that should have come with your EV, though it will be quite slow.

I had this happen with my Zappi after upgrading the home wifi network. Fortunately, a kind soul on YouTube had made a video on how to reconnect it. You may find a similar video relating to your charger on YouTube.

Here’s the Zappi one for reference:

Surely your home charger came with instructions, which should cover this situation. Mine does.

Most EV chargers utilise an ad-hoc network to do configure. If you get relatively close to the charger with your phone and search for WiFi networks you should see the name of your charger as a network. You usually connect to this to make changes to the configuration. However as others have said they are all different.

My Wallbox supports a Bluetooth connection, so to connect to WiFi (first time or if network changes) I simply connect my phone to it via Bluetooth and do the WiFi setup that way.

I'm sure your EVSE will have relevant instructions. Which one is it?

I was lazy, changed the SSID and password to the same as my old one. Not only would the car charger need an update, the inverter would (I have no idea how to do that), the secondary access point down the garden would need changing etc. My lazy work around.

As others have pointed out there is usually a method to get into the charger - either a reset of the charger and setup again or mine has a Bluetooth way in via installer app. So if you don’t take my lazy solution as above it will be charger specific.
