My MG ZS EV sometimes won't start. I press the door to unlock the car, and then the alarm goes off. What could be wrong?

I think it's something to do with moisture near the 12-volt battery. I get into the car and press the start button, then everything goes off and the alarm goes off.

Does it look like the moisture came from inside the battery? Beware: if so, it's probably concentrated acid.

If it waits till you press start and everything goes off, that's different; it sounds like the 12 V battery may be high internal resistance.

Can you measure its voltage with a multimeter?

Does the battery voltage suddenly fall to under 11.8 V when you press start?

Can you charge it with a 12 V car battery charger?

Preferably watch the battery voltage when you connect it. It may go straight to over 14 V; that's expected for a flat battery. If it's any good, it will fall to say 12-12.5 V in less than 10 minutes, as the internal resistance falls. If it just stays at 14.x volts for an hour or more, then it's toast.

My wife trggered alarm once when pulling handle and press unlock button on door handle at same time.

I always press unlock button on door handle first before pulling door handle.

Did you keep brake pedal depressed when press start button? Someone mentioned that brake pedal needs to be kept depressed untill system is ready.

Yes i've done that, but it still goes crazy and push off the alarm.

The brake pedal becomes hard and almost impossible to press down, the battery light is on, and it also says that the key is not in the car even though I am inside the car.
